Rachel Hahn, PhD, NCTM has served as Associate Director of Music Education and Worship at Immanuel St. Charles since 2019. She earned her PhD in Music Education from the University of Missouri (2019), Master of Music from Southern Methodist University (2016) and Bachelor of Music from Vanderbilt University (2014). Dr. Hahn teaches various music classes for grades K-8 at Immanuel, including handbells, band, choir, and general music. She also accompanies the adult choir. Dr. Hahn is married to Brian, and they enjoy running and playing basketball in their spare time.
An active teacher, researcher, and performer, Dr. Hahn's interests include music curriculum, group piano, classroom technology, and community outreach. Her work has been published in American Music Teacher, Clavier Companion, Piano Pedagogy Forum, and Missouri Journal of Research in Music Education.

Rev. Scott Schmieding is Senior Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in St. Charles, Missouri. Before arriving in St. Charles in March 2010, he served as Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from 1992-2010. He received his M.Div. (1991) and STM (1995) from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He graduated from Concordia University in Nebraska in 1987. Pastor Schmieding is married to Susie, and they are blessed with two children: Jenna and Paul.
Pastor Schmieding was diagnosed with stage 3 tongue cancer in 1997. He underwent an 11 hour operation at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston to remove his tongue and to do an major oral reconstruction, followed by 5 weeks of head and neck radiation treatments and several months of intense speech therapy. At the time of his surgery, Doctors informed him that he would likely not ever preach again or be able to swallow. By God's mercy and grace he continues to speak and serve as a Pastor with a unique voice proclaiming Christs hope and Good News. Pastor Schmieding is the author of Fighting Cancer with Faith, a booklet encouraging people to include the faith factor and depend on Jesus in the fight against cancer.
