Brian Casserly

Brian Casserly, JD, MBA: Brian's legal practice representing technology companies in all stages of the business cycle keeps him at the forefront of legal issues confronting companies in today's rapidly changing environments. His work routinely includes company formation, raising capital through private securities, contract and joint venture negotiations, equity compensation, and mergers & acquisitions. Brian also represents venture capital and privacy equity funds, as well as angel investors, in structuring investment vehicles and negotiating terms. Prior to practicing law, he spent several years in the finance industry.

Eric Leblond

Eric is an active member of the security and open source communities. He is a Netfilter Core Team member working mainly on communications between kernel and userland. He works on the development of Suricata, the open source IDS/IPS since 2009 and he is currently one of the Suricata core developers. He is also one of the founders of Stamus Networks, a company providing security solutions based on Suricata.

Gene Stevens - Founder

Gene Stevens: Gene is a co-founder and the CTO at ProtectWise, where he drives its technology vision and architecture. He has more than 20 years experience in software development, cloud computing, security-as-a-service, and distributed systems. Prior to founding ProtectWise, Gene was the Founder and CTO at TagLabs, a mobile tagging company. He was a Principal Software Engineer at McAfee, Cloud & Content Security and has also held engineering roles at MX Logic and GDX. Early in his career, Gene developed financial forecasting, market analysis and service capacity planning software for Hewitt Associates (Aon).

Jack Mott

Jack is a security researcher who focuses on open source solutions to detect, track and hunt malware and malicious activity. He has been a signature writer for the Emerging Threats team for several years, producing community/premium Suricata signatures to help protect networks worldwide. Jack is a strong believer in the open source mission as well as helping people and organizations solve security issues with open source solutions. Jason Ish

Jason is a professional software developer with over a decade of experience developing and integrating open source solutions in the security and networking fields. Jason's experience covers device drivers right up to user interfaces, including co-founding and acting as a CTO of an IDS integrator which was later acquired. Jason currently resides in Saskatoon, Canada.

Jason Williams

Jason is a security researcher with global enterprise experience in detecting, hunting and remediating threats with open source technologies. Primarily focusing on network communications, Jason has written thousands of commercial and community Suricata rules for Emerging Threats to help defenders protect their networks. Jason participates as a Signature Development and User Training instructor for the OISF.

Kelley Misata - President

Kelley is a strategic leader, speaker, and innovator who combines over 15 years in business leadership roles with a passion for facilitating critical conversations around responsible digital citizenship, digital safety, and privacy. Her work with The Open Information Security Foundation and past work at The Tor Project spans across fundraising, advocacy, policy discussions, marketing, and outreach activities with an array of stakeholders. She is also expanding her groundbreaking dissertation research in the information security of non-profits workings with victims of violence. Kelley combines professional and research endeavors with a unique perspective as a survivor of cyberstalking. She continually draws on current trends and conversations in information security and privacy to create strategies that focus on intersect people, process, and technology. Bringing to the table a fearless and unique perspective on privacy and security drives Kelley's successes in her professional and academic endeavors. Kelley holds a Ph.D. in Information Security from Purdue University specializing in the information security of organizations working with victims of violence, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Matt Jonkman - Founder

Victor Julien - Founder
