ADSWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL - Key Persons

Bridget Dunbar

I'm Bridget Dunbar, and I'm proud to be part of the Governing Board team at Adswood Primary, joining in September 2020. I'm retired now, but worked in the area for many years and used to visit Adswood Primary as part of my job with Ann Coffey, who was the Stockport Member of Parliament until 2019. I've always taken an interest in primary education - my dad was a primary headteacher! We have an amazing, successful school. It is all about the children and ensuring they enjoy school and get a great education. I will do all I can to support the Headteacher and her team, as well as asking questions and looking to what we can achieve in the future. I am happy to talk to parents/carers and others about Adswood Primary and my contact details can be accessed through the school.

David Seddon

I am the governor who keeps an eye on SEND and English across the school. I'm something of an expert on education in Stockport, having experienced a lot of it. I attended Banks Lane Primary and Stockport Grammar Schools, then won a scholarship to read English at Oxford. In 1970s I taught at Bramhall High School and in 1980s I was headteacher at Taxal Lodge, Stockport's residential special school. I ended my career as Director of Education for the Together Trust in Cheadle. And now - the high point of my Stockport educational journey - I've been a co-opted governor at Adswood since 2016.
