was blinded at the age of fourteen in a car accident. She has made it her life's mission to provide encouragement and support for blind and visually impaired people regardless of race, ethnicity, age or socio-economic levels. "I believe that I'm blind for a reason and that is so I can help others who are experiencing the challenges of vision loss," states Ms. Lapp. Her compassion, coupled with professionalism and business experience, have made FOCB what it is today: a place where blind and visually impaired people can find hope and help to live with dignity and independence. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, FOCB is governed by a talented and committed Board of Directors who bring management expertise and a strong commitment to FOCB's mission. Board members work closely with Executive Director Carolyn Lapp and FOCB's professional staff to ensure continuous quality improvement of its programs and services.
