FARMERS

The Worshipful Company of Farmers is one of the 110 Livery Companies of the City of London. The oldest of these date back to Medieval times or even before. Our own roots stretch back to the Cornmongers Guild in the 14th century, but the present, modern company was formally established in 1952... Our vibrant community of over 360 Liverymen (which includes many women too, in spite of the name) is drawn from all parts of the agricultural industry, not just from farmers and landowners. We meet regularly, usually in our own modern Livery Hall - at 3 Cloth Street, Barbican, which we share with the Fletchers' Company. This has meeting rooms as well as the main Hall itself. For larger, formal events like the Annual Banquet and Agricultural Lecture and Dinner, we meet in some of the larger, often magnificent, Livery Halls in the City of London...
