Dan Post has been practicing law since 1993 when he was first licensed in Wisconsin and served as law clerk for the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. He moved to California in 1994 and immediately joined Anderson, Zeigler. Dan's practice focuses on all aspects of civil litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. He has extensive experience handling appeals. He has successfully litigated commercial and individual breach of contract claims, real property disputes (partition/property division, inverse condemnation, boundary line, easement and fraudulent sales), construction claims (mechanics lien and defect claims) and commercial and residential landlord-tenant disputes. Dan has experience with a variety of prejudgment remedies (including injunctions, temporary restraining orders and prejudgment writs of attachment) and post-judgment enforcement of awards. Dan has repeatedly represented trustees, estates and beneficiaries with special emphasis in prosecuting or defending will contests, claims of fraud, undue influence, breach of fiduciary duty, lack of capacity, and elder abuse. He has obtained million dollar settlements for his clients in such cases. Dan also has experience litigating tax issues before California Courts and Federal Tax and District Courts. Don Black

After a career that spanned more than 40 years, Don retired in December of 2022. Don came to Anderson Zeigler after being a long-time solo practitioner in Santa Rosa. Not only did he bring his tremendous experience as a real estate and business transactions lawyer to the firm, but he also readily shared his deep insights and knowledge. Don was always available to brainstorm with colleagues and enthusiastically serve as a mentor to the firm's less practiced lawyers. We had no idea that a solo practitioner could be such a team player! Don immediately made an impact on the firm's culture and operations, becoming a co-managing director in 2016. Ed Anderson

Ed Anderson, Kirt Zeigler and Rob Disharoon founded Anderson Zeigler in 1982. They had each been members of the long-standing Spridgen law firm. Mr. Anderson focused on estate planning and tax matters. He was a trusted counselor to many families and businesses, and was instrumental in clearing the way for Christo and Jean-Claude to bring The Running Fence to Sonoma and Marin Counties. He was honored by the Sonoma County Bar Association as a recipient of its valued Career of Distinction Award in 2003.

Lisa has enjoyed a varied career that provides her with a broad base of experience and perspective to counsel clients in business and real estate matters. She was admitted to the California Bar in 1988 and although a California native, she has lived in Chicago and New Orleans as well as Los Angeles before returning to the Bay Area and settling in Santa Rosa with her husband. She first joined the firm as an associate in 1998 and then left to start her own affordable housing development company in 2001. Following that experience, she went on to be a consultant for Burbank Housing Development Corporation, the leading nonprofit affordable housing developer in Sonoma County, and then the Director of Development at Rural Communities Housing Development Corporation located in Ukiah, before returning to the firm. Michael has been practicing law in Marin and Sonoma Counties for over 40 years. Michael has earned an outstanding reputation as an attorney with a broad professional background and is extremely experienced in his family law, civil litigation and transactional work. Rick's practice focuses on complex litigation with extensive experience litigating in both state and federal courts. His litigation experience is quite diverse with cases raging from patent, trademark and copyright infringement, to construction defect, to environmental contamination and wage and hour class actions. With an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Microbiology, Rick began his professional career in the labs at Chevron researching lubrication oil additives. In 1993, Rick graduated from law school, took the bar exam, and transferred to Chevron's law department where his practice focused on environmental litigation and patent work. Rob Rutherfurd's practice focuses on general business work, including the organization and operation of corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies; mergers and acquisitions; business-succession planning; contract drafting; and real estate law. Rose M. Zoia was admitted to the California Bar in 1988. A native of Ohio, Ms. Zoia moved to California after attending law school in Washington, D.C. and was an associate at Senneff, Bernheim, Emery & Kelly. She eventually opened a solo practice until joining Anderson Zeigler in 2019. Rose is experienced in real estate and business transactions, and contract matters in general. She also has extensive experience in land use matters, including the entitlement process, having handled numerous cases throughout the state from administrative hearings through the appellate courts. Ms. Zoia has practiced in a dozen superior courts and in the appellate courts throughout the state and has presented seminars on appeals and land use. A native of Monterey County, California, Ryan joined Anderson Zeigler as a Shareholder in 2023, after serving as the Managing Shareholder of his own firm for over a decade. Ryan joined Anderson Zeigler with a broad base of experience that emphasizes business and real property transactions and disputes on behalf of clients throughout California and nationwide. Ryan has successfully resolved matters through mediation, arbitration and trial. He also acts as outside counsel to individuals and businesses, leveraging his decades of litigation experience to assist clients with resolution of legal issues without the need for litigation. Ryan received his undergraduate degree in economics from Sonoma State University, and law degree from Golden Gate University. During law school, Ryan was the Managing Editor of the Law Review, and a Moot Court finalist. Outside of the office, Ryan is active in several philanthropic and recreational activities. He has served in both membership and leadership roles with the Active 20/30 Club of Santa Rosa, the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa and its Foundation, the Santa Rosa Corps of the Salvation Army, and the Santa Rosa Rose Parade. He is a graduate of Leadership Santa Rosa program through the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce, Class 30. Ryan has volunteered coaching youth lacrosse through the Santa Rosa Steelheads program and CYO basketball for years. Recreationally, Ryan is an avid golfer and plays competitive tennis. Ryan is a married father of two: a college-aged daughter (Roll Tide!) and a student at Cardinal Newman High School.

Zach Carroll

Zachary was born and raised in Healdsburg. His first career was in software engineering, which evolved into writing software for health care organizations. In 2008, he graduated from law school and immediately opened a solo practice focusing on bankruptcy and estate planning for the elderly. While in law school and throughout his years in solo practice, Zachary volunteered weekly at the Sonoma County Elder Law Clinic assisting numerous seniors with their estate plans and other issues. In 2014, Zachary was a recipient of the Sonoma County Bar Association's Pro Bono Award for his work at the Elder Law Clinic. In 2016, he joined the Council on Aging as their Director of Legal Services. Zachary now primarily assists clients with Estate Planning and Trust Administration.
