Andrea Abbate has been drawn to end-of-life issues for as long as she can remember. She grew up in a funeral home on Long Island, New York, where her father, a funeral director, openly spoke about death and dying. She has served in several positions with nonprofit organizations, managing social media accounts, conducting research, and blogging. She holds a bachelor's degree in Sociology and English from Emory University. In addition to helping spearhead and manage all social media activities, Andrea is a regular contributor to the End With Care blog.
Rick Goldstone brings a background in strategic planning, program development, training, marketing and website applications to the End With Care board. He is the creator of an esteemed end-of-life resource developed for the former Massachusetts Commission on End of Life Care. A creation of the Massachusetts Legislature, the Commission brought together a blue-ribbon panel of experts to study and propose ideas to meet the increasing needs of those in the final stages of life. This earlier work serves as the conceptual foundation for the End With Care endeavor. In addition to a career as a communications consultant, he previously served on the Board of Directors of the Artists Foundation. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and holds a Master's Degree in Education from Boston University.
