The first thing I learned about was serving and portion sizes. I wasn't sure how to measure out the foods I was going to eat until I discovered that nutrition labels were probably the first best thing to start with. Although I was sent an e-book about all this and I had spent some time delving into nutrition books and content nothing beats your personally putting things into practice. I certainly don't call myself proficient in this new endeavor but it is a start. I noticed real quick that my portion sizes are everywhere. Since I started tracking I am paying more attention to the portion sizes of proteins, carbs, and fats... I am approaching the 4th week and have been feeling the fluctuation of hormones that we tend to get right before our menstrual cycle. Instead of tracking my food yesterday and today I will apply what I have been learning to choose my foods without tracking and weighing them. I will go back to tracking on Tuesday.
