I am proud and honoured to be the Director of Alumni Engagement here at Rotman. Figuring out how best to meet the needs of our diverse and global alumni is what drives me each day. And if I'm being frank, it's also what keeps me up some nights - in a good way! Some people tell me that if there was a Jeopardy category on Rotman alumni, I'd clean house. I don't know about Jeopardy, but I am unabashedly a Rotman alumni super fan. I believe in the power of our alumni and our students. And when you put the two groups together, I think the Rotman community can change the world! From the amazing ideas generated through the finalists in the Hult Competition for social innovation, to the brilliant young minds graduating from our Master of Financial Risk Management program, to the incredible leaders in our full-time, part-time, executive, and global MBA programs, to the custodians of sound financial management in the Master of Finance program, the Rotman community has game-changing talent.
I'm thrilled to help our alumni increase the value of their Rotman education through events, volunteer opportunities, mentorship programming, and by connecting you to one another. I'm located in the Alumni Centre, so please come by for a visit or email me at jennifer.hildebrandt@rotman.utoronto.ca.

Job Titles:
- Alumni Engagement Officer
I love a good story. I take in as many films and podcasts as I can in my free time, and feel extremely lucky that I get to hear uplifting stories at work too. As part of the alumni relations team, I come across unique stories every day. In planning our December ‘Made by Rotman' Holiday Market, I discovered a world of Rotman entrepreneurs. I was inspired by a young alum, who built a successful career as an investment banker but wanted something else. He made a courageous change, started a craft beer company, and last I heard, he's loving it.
Passion and perseverance are themes echoed in these stories, but even then, one must possess great resilience to manage the highs and lows of starting a business. These stories not only help me understand our alumni's needs, but at a personal level, also inspire the work that I do. As an MBA graduate with industry experience in the CPG sector, I know firsthand the value of being engaged in one's alumni community, and hope to facilitate that connection for alumni at Rotman.

What do you do when you believe in the Rotman brand? You admit students and support alumni. I started my career at Rotman in the recruitment and admissions office, attracting the world's top talent to the School. I recently joined the alumni relations team and I now get to reconnect with the students I recruited. It's wonderful to see their journeys. There's something special about the pay-it-forward mindset of our young alumni - they have learned so much through the program and are eager to share their hard-earned insights with incoming students. There are lots of opportunities for our established alumni to share their career wisdom with our young and mid-career alumni as well. Our Reunite at Rotman and Spring Fireside Chats are great examples of this exchange. I get to foster that type of engagement on Rotman Connect - a virtual forum for organic alumni connections. If you want to learn more, drop me a line at sheldon.dookeran@rotman.utoronto.ca or visit Rotman Connect.
