Our Catholic faith permeates our daily schedule, supporting students as they explore the educational and extracurricular opportunities offered. We invite you to get to know Bishop Chatard High School.
Visit our Enrollment Process & Events page where prospective students and their parents can view the many opportunities available to explore Bishop Chatard throughout the year. Eighth-grade students are encouraged to sign up for Shadowing to experience a day-in-the-life of a Bishop Chatard Trojan. Our Open House in the fall provides time to talk with students, parents, administrators and teachers about the faith-based and innovative academic programs our students experience. Parents can sign up for a Wednesday Walk-Thru session and One-to-One Appointments are available year-round.
Bishop Chatard is an inclusive educational environment comprised of a diverse group of students with one thing in common: the desire for a Catholic education. While Bishop Chatard has consistently remained the top high school choice of students from the Archdiocese of Indianapolis' nine North Deanery parish schools, we also welcome students from a number of middle schools throughout Indianapolis. We are all Bishop Chatard Trojans.
Bishop Chatard is staffed by 98 administrators, teachers, and guidance counselors.
All Bishop Chatard teachers hold a bachelor's degree or catechetical certificate and 80 percent hold at least one master's degree or higher.
Bishop Chatard students are supported by over 50 years of history and tradition. Committed to our role as the Archdiocese of Indianapolis North Deanery high school, it remains the mission of Bishop Chatard to serve all students who seek a Catholic education. We achieve that by maintaining an inclusive learning environment that offers over 50 Honors, Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses along with an innovative Academic Support Program that narrows learning gaps.
Trojans graduate college-ready. Bishop Chatard's 13:1 student-to-teacher ratio and individualized guidance program prepares students for study at some of the most challenging and innovative post-secondary institutions in the country. The Class of 2020 averaged nearly $135,000 per student in scholarships and grants, and 74% percent of these young men and woman earned Academic Honors diplomas. When they begin college, the majority of Bishop Chatard graduates do so with the momentum of having earned course credits in AP and Dual Credit classes taken while in high school.
