Safe Horizon has begun a journey to transform how we support survivors, families, and communities and to repair any harm we have caused. It starts by making a commitment to be anti-racist and to work towards racial equity. This means we are committed to acknowledging and addressing white supremacy, anti-Blackness, and systemic racism against all people of color. We started with recognizing bias and the harm racism causes in our own organization and have extended our anti-racism work to include our role in systems, communities, and beyond. Our goal is to be accountable and to share our progress both inside and outside of the organization... Safe Horizon is the nation's leading victim assistance organization, operating a network of programs across New York City communities and systems. We work with survivors of all forms of violence, including racism, to move from crisis to confidence.
