Alan Smith has been with the firm since 2001. Originally a client, he was asked to come to work for the firm after selling his business. He has over 25 years of retail experience enabling him to relate to our clients on a business level they understand. Alan manages our payroll service and works closely with clients on accounting software and bookkeeping solutions.
Alan's hobbies include magic, and he is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and their Order of Merlin. He lives in North Shelby County with his wife and their adopted dog, Winston.
Alex Bates is a Senior Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. Alex is originally from Birmingham and received his Bachelor of Science from Birmingham Southern College.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys fishing, playing lacrosse, and board and card games.
Andrea Atkins serves as Administrative Support at Dent Moses. According to the day Andrea's duties vary but can include mailings, taking calls from clients, and assisting with the assembling of tax returns.
Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science from Humphreys University in Stockton, CA. She is the proud parent of her two children.
Barry is a Partner at Dent Moses. With over 30 years of experience, he provides auditing, consulting, and tax services for closely held businesses, churches, not for profit organizations, and individuals to provide auditing, consulting, and tax services.
Barry earned his B.S. in accounting from Auburn University and previously served as the treasurer for the Board of Vestavia Schools Foundation. He is a Deacon at Brookwood Baptist Church and past chairman of Finance Committee. He has served on the Vestavia Baseball Board and helped found the Vestavia Youth Flag Football League.
Barry is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and lives with his wife and two children. He lives an active life, hunting, hiking, and mountain biking. He enjoys spending time with family, going to the lake, and tailgating at Auburn for football games.
Ben Drake is a partner at Dent Moses, LLP and the President for the Impact Technology Group, LLC. A seasoned technology professional, Ben helped spearhead the creation of Impact Technology Group, LLC, the firm's technology consulting company. As partner, Ben oversees general business operations and project management, and leads the sales and marketing activities of the company.
Having a broad professional background focused on the legal, construction and healthcare industries gives Ben the ability to design and manage technology solutions that are built around the specific needs of each business that Impact serves.
Ben's roots are in Tuscaloosa, Alabama but he now lives in Birmingham with his wife and two children. He relishes the good Southern life, devoting his leisure hours to fishing, hunting, shooting and golf. He also appreciates good food and wine, and though he doesn't play any instruments himself, he loves great music as well.
Brittany is a Staff Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. She received her Bachelor of Science from Jacksonville State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
When she isn't working, Brittany enjoys running, gardening and spending time with her husband and two children.

Carol Moyer serves in the client accounting department of Dent Moses and has many years of experience in payroll services.
Carol is an avid reader and loves to bake. She resides in Birmingham with her fiancé and their two fur babies, Emma (cat) and Jackson (dog).
Chase Baker is a Senior Manager at Dent Moses, LLP. He joined the firm in 2011 and in his role is responsible for assisting with business audits and NFP.
Chase participates in the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), from which he received an Accounting Achievement Award, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He also holds memberships in the business fraternities Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma. He is a graduate of Samford University, where he earned both his bachelor's degree in accounting and his Master of Accountancy.
Originally from Dothan, Alabama, Chase now resides in Roswell, Georgia, with his wife. He's a sports fan, particularly Alabama football and Braves baseball, and enjoys spending time with his two sons.

Cindy Bryan is a partner with Dent Moses. With over 15 years of experience in public accounting, Cindy focuses on serving local governmental municipalities, not for profit entities, closely held businesses and individuals with audit and attestation engagements, tax planning, tax compliance, and business consulting.
Cindy is a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Junior League of Birmingham. Cindy serves on the Allinial Global HR Committee as the Dent Moses HR Partner.
She graduated from Auburn University, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Accounting and earned her Master of Accountancy from Samford University.
Cindy is active in the Birmingham community. She enjoys volunteering through the Junior League of Birmingham, having joined in 2012. As an active member, she has Chaired the Shop Save & Share fundraiser and served on Executive Board as Finance Vice President and Fund Development Vice President, among other roles. She also serves on the YMCA Central Alabama Board of Directors. She has received multiple accolades for her outstanding leadership, including the League's Women to Watch award, Momentum Fund Development award, Kendyl Lowe Board Service Award, and About Town's 2020 Trailblazers recognition.
Corbin Smith is a Staff Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. Corbin received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham after interning with the firm in 2022.
Corbin is involved in his church and enjoys a variety of activities, including hiking, sport shooting, basketball, playing the saxophone, listening to music, and watching movies and shows.

David Dees is a Principal with Dent Moses. He has over 30 years' experience in public accounting helping individuals and closely helps businesses with their accounting and tax needs. David has helped clients in a variety of industries and professions. In addition, David has extensive experience in the bankruptcy and restructuring areas.
David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA). He is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BS in Accounting.
David lives in Hoover with his wife. They are the proud parents of two current college students. David volunteers with Service Dogs of Alabama as a dog socializer/trainer.
Drew Hollis is a Staff Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. Drew joined the team after interning with the firm in 2023 and receiving his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama Birmingham. He is currently pursuing his Master of Business Administration.
Outside of work, Drew enjoys reading, running, building puzzles, playing basketball and tennis.

Eli Hogan is an Outsourced Accounting Manager with Dent Moses. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a BSBA in Accounting. He provides a variety of accounting services to his clients, such as financial statement preparation, streamlining processes, and helping clients understand the financials they are given.
In his free time, Eli enjoys playing golf and watching Alabama football. He resides in Helena, Alabama, with his wife and two children.

Heather Holt is a part time accountant with Dent Moses. With over a decade of experience, she specializes in tax matters, with a focus on serving the firm's small business clients.
Heather earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Alabama. She volunteers with the tech team at Lakeside Baptist Church.
Heather's free time is spent doing the things she enjoys: cooking, reading, and spending time with her family. She lives in Birmingham with her husband and daughter and frequently visits her son and daughter-in-law who live in Huntsville.

James Moody joined Dent Moses in 2006 and became partner in 2014. James works with clients to provide accounting, audit, business consulting and tax services for privately held businesses in many industries, including wholesale distribution, professional service firms and not-for-profit organizations. James also provides consulting and tax services for high net worth individuals and shareholders of privately held businesses.
James is a graduate of Samford University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in accounting in 2006 and Master's of Accountancy in 2007.
James is a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). James served as the 2021-2022 Chair of the ASCPA and also served as a past president of the Birmingham Chapter of the ASCPA.
James serves on the Accounting Advisory Board of the Brock School of Business at Samford University and was honored as the 2014 Distinguished Accounting Alumnus of the Brock School of Business. James enjoys staying connected with the accounting programs at local universities where he participates in career development and awards events and has been a guest speaker for a number of accounting courses and seminars over the years.
A native of Moody, Alabama, James still calls this town home with his wife and three daughters. He serves as a deacon and chairman of the finance committee at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Leeds and also volunteers as the treasurer of its Child Development Center. In his free time, James enjoys mountain biking, hiking, spelunking, and spending time with his family.

Jane Bochnak is a manager at Dent Moses and specializes in tax consulting and compliance for large and small C and S corporations, and state and local tax consulting.
Jane is a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Junior League of Birmingham. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Masters of Tax Accounting. She first became interested in accounting because it is the window to all aspects of business, and it allows one to be involved in all functions of business operation.
Originally from Athens, Alabama, Jane now lives in Birmingham with her husband and children. She spends most of her free time outside of work at their various sporting events and performances. She also enjoys reading, watching movies, travelling, and Alabama football - Roll Tide!

Jessica serves in the client accounting department of Dent Moses, LLP. She has years of experience in general ledger and financial report preparation, payroll tax, sales and use tax returns, business licenses, and individual, partnership and corporate tax returns.
Jessica earned her accounting degree and Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
In her free time, Jessica volunteers as a personal financial advisor for her church and as a Cub Scout Committee Member for her kids' local troop. She loves reading, going to the zoo with her kids, camping, and hiking at State and National Parks.
Jessica resides in Hoover with her husband and twin boys.
Jonathan received his Bachelor's in Science from Auburn University and Master in Accounting from the University of Alabama Birmingham.

In his free time, Jonathan enjoys gardening. He and his wife live in Hoover, Alabama, with their two children.
Jonathan Fleagle is a Senior Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP, and provides clients with general business consulting and tax advisory services. Jonathan received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Montevallo and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Jonathan serves as Treasurer for Columbiana Main Street and enjoys spending time with family, golfing and playing with his two pet rabbits. Jonathan resides in Columbiana, AL, with his wife.

Judith Carter is the firm administrator for Dent Moses joining the firm in 1991. Having previously served in the accounting department of a regional bank, in her current role, she partners with the management team to keep the firm running smoothly and efficiently and manages all in-house bookkeeping, payroll and support staff.
Judith is the proud parent of three sons, two of whom are now adults and one in college. Originally from Fultondale, Alabama, she lives with her husband in Warrior. When not managing the overall picture for the Dent Moses office, she enjoys reading, gardening, beekeeping.

Killian Dunn is a Senior Outsourced Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. Killian received his Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Montevallo.
Killian lives in Birmingham with his wife and two children. When not spending time with family he enjoys playing golf and watching as many sports as possible, being partial to the Seattle Seahawks and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Kyle Burgess is a Staff Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. Kyle interned at Dent Moses in 2022 and joined the team after completing his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Kyle is involved in his church and enjoys spending time with his family. He plays golf and tennis in his free time and loves listening to old rock n' roll music.

Lane Hooper is a Senior Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. Lane completed an internship with the firm while at Auburn University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Accountancy. Lane earned his CPA certification while pursuing his master's degree.
Lane is a Board Member for MoreThan4, a non-profit raising awareness for childhood cancer research. He also loves hiking and playing frisbee golf.

Larkin is a Staff Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Accounting from Samford University.
She loves Alabama football and enjoys going to games in the fall. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Lauren is a Senior Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. She received her bachelor's in accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is currently working on her CPA license.
Lauren and her husband, DJ, live in Brandon, Mississippi. In her free time, she enjoys reading, camping, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and their pets.
Lee Willoughby is a partner with Dent Moses with over 20 years of experience in public accounting. He is a graduate of University of Alabama - Birmingham (UAB) with his Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Lee is a CPA with memberships in both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA). He also serves on the Samford Advisory board of Accounting and the board of the Vestavia Parks Foundation.
In his free time, Lee enjoys hiking, watching movies, and trying to keep up with his four active children.
Lou Fowler serves as Administrative Support at Dent Moses. With over 20 years of experience in administration, Lou's duties vary according to the day. She is in charge of letters and mailings, taking calls from clients, and assembling tax returns.
Originally from Landover Hills, Maryland, Lou had experienced living in several other states but when she found herself in Birmingham, she fell in love and knew this is the place she wanted to raise her two boys (who are now grown).
Luke is very involved in his church. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and fishing. He also is a self-proclaimed Star Wars nerd. Luke and wife live in Birmingham.
Megan Britnell is a Staff Accountant at Dent Moses, LLP. Megan joined the team after interning with the firm in 2023 and receiving her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama Birmingham. She is pursuing her Master of Accounting.
In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time in the kitchen cooking, as well as reading and painting. Megan loves spending time with family and friends and resides in Birmingham with her husband.
Michelle Watts is a CPA with Dent Moses. She specializes in tax matters with a focus on providing services to individuals and handling estates, trust and gifts.
Michelle earned a B.S. in Accounting from Samford University followed by a Master's of Accounting from the University of Alabama. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Alabama Society for CPAs (ASCPA).
A native of Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia near Chattanooga, Tennessee, Michelle now resides in Hoover, Alabama and is the proud mother of two children. She has served the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at their school in roles including secretary and treasurer and is now leading the organization as president. On top of that, she is involved in the children's and music ministries at her church.
