Bay Industrial, a 40 year-old Korean firm entered the growing inflatable boat market in 1986... In 1994, Bay started to supply inflatable boats to the Brunswick Group under the Quicksilver brand name. Production was moved to a Bay-owned plant in Dalian, China in the late 1990's. The plant is managed by Korean staff reporting to headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. Since the beginning of the relationship with Brunswick, Bay has produced more than 200,000 boats under the Mercury and Quicksilver brands plus a series of Sea Ray and Bayliner branded tenders. Bay has also manufactured 40,000 boats under its own LodeStar brand (including branded tenders for Swedish builder Nimbus and US builder Ranger Tugs). Other important activities include the production of tubes for UK luxury RIB tender builder Williams Performance Tenders, mid-range boats for a major European inflatable boat brand, river rafts for the US market, and government patrol boats for African and Asian markets.
