ESTHETIC FAMILY DENTISTRY - Key Persons

Dr. Perigo has worked for Esthetic Family Dentistry since early 2014 and having finished 9 years practicing dentistry in the US Air Force, he is proud to be at EFD full-time. Because of the beautiful scenery, accessibility to outdoor sports including mountain biking, hiking, boating, camping, dirt biking and the peaceful atmosphere of the area, Dr. Perigo, along with his wife and 5 kids, is excited to call Colorado Springs his forever - home. Dr. Perigo graduated with highest honors from the University of Iowa Dental School after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Utah. Dr. Perigo has a strong desire to establish a dental practice where he can get to know his patients as friends. He enjoys, not only making smiles look great, but also making people smile! From his sense of humor to his ability to make a patient feel comfortable and relaxed, to his integrity and the confidence that a person is receiving excellent, cost-effective dental care, Dr. Perigo hopes to establish a long lasting relationship with his patients.

Dr. Cara Tokuda Thoman grew up in Oahu, Hawaii, and graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After earning her undergraduate degree, she attained her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry in 1991 from Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon. She did her general residency at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Thoman has won numerous awards and honors throughout her career. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is dedicated to advanced education and participates in numerous continuing education courses each year.

Dr. Valerie Slater considers herself a Texas native who has always dreamed of living in her paradise, which she calls Colorado. She was in the US Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate, where she found her passion for dentistry and decided to pursue her dream. Dr. Slater graduated from the University of North Florida, where she obtained her Bachelor's in Biomedical Science and then earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. Dr. Slater aspires to make every patient feel comfortable and offers them treatment options best suited to their individual needs. She has always had a passion for helping others and expresses that through dentistry. When Dr. Slater is not practicing, she loves spending time with her husband, two kids, and two dogs. They love traveling, snowboarding, hiking, kayaking, and attempting to cook and barbeque. Dr. Slater is excited to be here in Colorado and join the Esthetic Family Dentistry team to serve the community.
