Jane is a graduate of the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP), a two year program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, and is certified by both the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley. Jenifer Zetlan

Job Titles:
  • Retired
Originally drawn to yoga 20 years ago while working as a psychotherapist, Jenifer began her journey learning classical yoga by following the 8 limbs of yoga through Ashtanga practice. Although first experiencing yoga in its classical form - quite by serendipity while looking for a good workout - it has shaped her professional development both clinically and in her yoga instruction. Jenifer teaches her yoga classes as a moving meditation synchronizing breath with movement, and holding attention with intention. Her Yoga Nidra style is deeply nourishing and effortless. After 10 years of personal practice, Jenifer completed her 200 hour certification with the Yoga Company in California and spent two years developing a specialized yoga program for medically challenged clients with Jeremiah Dees, exercise physiologist. After moving to Cape Cod she later immersed herself in Kripalu's School for Integrative Yoga Therapy for advanced study. She is certified by Yoga Alliance as an Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga (ERYT) and is Certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT). As a retired psychotherapist Jenifer continues a counseling practice at Independence House on Cape Cod. After two decades practicing and teaching yoga, Jenifer continues to mature her own practice and feels fortunate in supporting others in their unique journeys.

Kayla Costigan

Kayla is passionate to serve her community. She has worked for 8 years as an oncology nurse, but has always seen something lacking from the healthcare world; spirituality. She sees healing as multifactorial and believes a regular yoga practice is a key factor in not only healing, but being connected to our truest version of ourselves. She fell in love with meditation first and after realizing how yoga is a form of meditation through movement, quickly fell in love with asana too. She completed her 200 HR YTT in Costa Rica and is excited to continue her education in the field of yoga. Aside from yoga, Kayla is frequently found hiking, fishing, running, or studying nutrition. She recently became a certified functional nutrition practitioner and see's nutrition as another critical limb to overall wellness and health. She is so delighted to be part TYC team and serve the community through asana and meditation!

  • Owner / Founder of TYC
Melissa wants to be able to address the needs of each of her students individually. Rather than having us parrot her actions, she gives verbal instructions on how to accomplish a stretch, watches how we react and then gives individual suggestions on how to optimize the stretch. She makes it clear that each body is different and that what works for one person make not work for everyone. In class she was able to more directly adjust our postures to be more effective. However, even on Zoom, she carefully watches each participant and makes suggestions individually.
