Fondly referred to by locals as "The Pink Palace", the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club opened its grand doors on January 1, 1885. At the time Bermuda had gained international recognition when Princess Louise, the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, visited for a winter retreat and called it "a place of eternal spring."
