The SASSI Institute is committed to helping people who suffer from alcohol and other drug problems and the professionals who serve them. Our questionnaires are backed by over 30 years of research, one-to-one customer service, and a commitment to quality... SAVR-S was created in consultation with specialists in the VR field. Adding items about prescription medication misuse and modifying the wording and reading level were in response to the suggestions of experienced VR counselors (Heinemann et al., 2008). A defensiveness (DEF) scale measuring the extent to which clients minimized acknowledgment of problems was added to the revised version of the SAVR-S - SAVR-S2 at the request of VR counselors... The SASSI Institute provides quality training for use of our screening instruments as well as other professional development trainings.
