Knowing what the 'best' rate is at any given time is just one small part of a decent mortgage adviser's role. What's probably more valuable is knowing everything about a lenders criteria to be able to identify who has the 'best' rate available and being able to package and present your case to a lender in the best way possible to secure a mortgage offer first time round.
Think of Interest Rate familiarity as being a basic car wash, for example, but having the ability and experience to look at all the hundreds of choices available and secure that scheme with minimal disruption to you as the hot wax and wheel polish!
