HART SERVICES - Key Persons
Aunty Maureen Logan has been a long time advocate for First Nations People across the North Coast. She has served as a board member for the First Peoples Disability Network Australia since 2017. A position she took on after it merged with the NSW Aboriginal Disability Network. Where she served as a board member 8 years, having been involved since 2003.
Aunty Maureen is also very active in local advocacy and cultural awareness for the Bundjalung Nation around the Tweed. She was instrumental in developing the Gunna Binnung cultural awareness program and has also made two short films, "Our Boat" (2005) "Susan's Birthday Party" (2006) to help promote reconciliation and understanding. Aunty Maureen has been a HART Board Member since 2017
Bill commenced volunteering with HART Services in May 2017 as a medical transport driver and joined the Board of Management in November 2017. Bill was a founding member of the Lismore City Council Public Transport and Access Committee and has many years' experience in investigating and progressing public transport and access issues, including physical access. Bill has qualifications in Traffic Management and Emergency Service Management and has an interest in assisting the community in realising improved transport and access.
Mark commenced volunteering with HART Services as a medical transport driver in May 2012 soon joining the Board of Management in 2012. Mark brings firsthand knowledge and experience in providing services to our clients as well as his extensive administrative, financial and management experience. Employed for 30 years at Southern Cross University, Mark's roles included Acting Director of Student Services and University Quality Officer. Mark is actively involved in the community and also volunteers with the Goonellabah-Wollongbar and Districts Lions Club and Friends of the Koala as their Nursery Manager.
Jenny has 38 years lived experience of the issues effecting people with disabilities and their families. She has an understanding and willingness to advance people with disabilities to participate and enjoy a fully active and engaged life. Jenny holds a BA in Communications (Social Analysis) is an active Board Member for a NFP disability advocacy group and has worked within the disability service sector with various organisations, including Project Officer at an Advocacy Service (ACTION for People with Disability). Jenny's experience is invaluable as HART Services engage in Home Care Package service provision.
Marissa has recently graduated as an Occupational Therapist from Southern Cross University. Marissa resides locally with her family and is passionate about providing equitable health care services to those living in rural areas, particularly children. Marissa has previously worked extensively in community pharmacy and has a strong drive to support people to get more out of life, help individuals overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
