Anthony May Trustees

Anthony is a Trainee Solicitor at commercial law firm Sintons LLP. When Anthony was 18, he spent time living on the streets and he was in and out of homelessness before studying for a law degree in his late 20s. After turning his life around, Anthony is keen to use his legal background, commercial experience and first-hand knowledge of homelessness to help people to make a positive change. Changing Lives is an organisation that Anthony feels a strong affinity with, and he provides an experiential link from people accessing services to the Board.

Dean Fielding Trustees

Job Titles:
  • Dean Operated As Group Finance Director of LSL Property Services PLC from 2002 to 2010
Since then he has been a non-executive Director and Chair of other businesses within the Property Sector.

Glynis Frew

Job Titles:
  • Chairman of the Trustee Board
Glynis Frew is Chair of the Trustee Board at Changing Lives. Glynis joins Changing Lives with over 40 years' experience in business, 20 of which has been within the property market. Glynis has held a number of roles with blue chip companies including United Biscuits and PepsiCo, where she specialised in running key accounts, sales and training. She then joined Hunters Estate Agents in 1999 and led the company as Chief Executive Officer from December 2016 to March 2022. Leading the senior team when the company floated on the stock market, she also brings with her considerable experience in governance. During her business career she has always been active in supporting charities and is proud to be part of Changing Lives as she follows in the footsteps of her mother who worked for over 20 years in YACRO (York Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders) prior to that organisation joining Changing Lives.

Lesley Telford

Lesley Telford has worked in the banking sector for over 26 years, covering areas across the North East and Tees Valley areas. She has more latterly worked in the SME sector but has also previously worked with businesses operating in the larger business space. She has knowledge of structuring deals in the healthcare and not for profit sectors and also has some experience in structuring funding solutions in the oil and gas sector.

Lisa Boyack

Lisa has worked in the Criminal Justice sector for over 30 years, working with men, women and children during that time. She joined Changing Lives over 14 years ago, originally as a Project Lead, and is now Area Manager for Women's Justice Services in the North. She firmly believes in the work of Changing Lives and our talented staff in making a real difference to marginalised people, and is passionate about Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity.

Mike Barton

Mike spent 39 years of service in Lancashire and Durham Constabularies, retiring as Chief Constable of Durham. He led the implementation of Problem Orientation and Restorative Justice training in Lancashire, providing victims with a voice and meaningfully challenging people who have committed offences to change their behaviour. Over the last decade he transformed Durham into the world's leading police organisation in the adoption and use of Problem Orientation. He has also been actively involved in charities and community groups as trustee and chair. In 2017 he was named ‘Communicator of the Year' in the North East in 2017 and enjoys regular appearances in the media.

Peter Brown

Peter has had a long successful career in the Probation Service and brings significant knowledge and experience of the Criminal Justice system to the Board. Peter initially obtained a degree in Modern History and Politics at Liverpool University before going to work in the voluntary sector. He obtained his C.Q.S.W. from University College Cardiff before beginning his career in the Probation Service. He worked in London and Humberside before becoming Chief Officer in Northampton in 2005, moving to North Yorkshire two years later where he remained until his retirement in 2014. During this time he obtained an MBA from the University of Hull. Peter brings with him considerable experience of leading multi-agency working, having chaired Criminal Justice Boards, Drug Action Teams, and Safeguarding Boards during his career.

Sandra Erickson

Originally from the North East, Sandra has over 25 years commercial business experience focusing on providing Technology and Talent Solutions to a wide range of organisations UK wide, through her role at Director at Harvey Nash. She has been an active charity fundraiser for over 10 years and is passionate about supporting marginalised individuals and communities. Additionally, she is the Global co-chair of the wo+men@nash ERG at Nash Squared, concentrating on gender equality topics across the group. Sandra initially gained a degree in Psychology, where her affection for individual differences began, and she has most recently completed a MBA at Northumbria University.

Stephen Bell

Stephen's experience covers serving on various National and Regional groups and boards across the voluntary and public sectors. These have included Homeless Link Governance Committee, where Stephen steered policy change for those effected by homelessness and related issues. Stephen has received national recognition for the work he has done including the Voluntary Sector Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was privileged to receive a Queens Honour for his services to the homeless.

Steve Guyon

Steve had a long and varied career in the civil service until his retirement. For the past eleven years he led work on single homelessness and rough sleeping. He was awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours List in recognition for his services to rough sleepers. He has worked with Changing Lives over a number of years. Steve is married with two children. His hobbies include walking, squash and supporting Chelsea.
