PLACID AUDIOLOGY - Key Persons

Dr. Karen Wolff

Dr. Karen Wolff received her AuD (Doctor of Audiology) degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2003. Prior to that she received her Masters Degree in Audiology from Hunter College in Manhattan. Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Wolff began her audiology career working in a variety of medical and clinical settings in Maine and Vermont. In 1992 she moved to Saranac Lake and was employed at a private practice Audiology group, working at several locations throughout the north country for over 23 years. Educating people about hearing protection and hearing loss, and helping patients overcome their difficulties with hearing or tinnitus has always been her passion. In 2016, with the support of her husband and 3 children, Placid Audiology became a reality. Today Dr Wolff and Placid Audiology have been voted "Best of the Mountains" every year since. When Dr. Wolff is not at her beautiful office in Lake Placid, she enjoys spending time with her family in New York and Cape Cod, and helping with the family hobby of making maple syrup each spring. She volunteers her time on the board of Saranac Lake Health Association and Hearing the Call. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology. She completes more than the required hours of continuing education in her field each year, and is always seeking new information that may benefit her patients.
