Burak Sarsılmaz is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Before joining Utah State University, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar within the Autonomous Controls Laboratory at the University of Washington. Burak received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and M.A. in Mathematics from the University of South Florida. He received his M.S. and B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Middle East Technical University. From 2014 to 2016, he was a flight control systems engineer in the T625 multirole helicopter project at Turkish Aerospace Industries.

Dr. Hongjie Wang is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Utah State University. At USU, Dr. Wang serves as the co-director of the Utah State University Power Electronics Laboratory (UPEL). Dr. Wang is the Charging Stations of the Future (CSoF) project lead at the NSF ASPIRE ERC. Dr. Wang has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and holds 8 issued patents. Dr. Wang received NSF CAREER Award in 2023. His current research areas include DC power distribution, analysis, design and control of resonant converters, extreme fast charging, grid interface power converters, health monitoring and diagnosis of power converters, and dynamic wireless power transfer for transportation electrification applications.

Jake Gunther is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has worked and consulted on projects in the areas of pattern recognition, speech recognition and synthesis, image processing, sonar array processing, and multi-rate signal processing. Recent projects have included echo and feedback cancellation, unmixing and sub-pixel target detection in hyperspectral imagery, data fusion, channel equalization, accelerating iterative decoding of error control codes, and system characterization using spread spectrum signaling.
Research Interests
His research interests include signal processing, statistical signal processing, array processing, adaptive filtering and its applications, independent component analysis, decision theory, estimation theory, and communication theory.
