Amanda Harris

Amanda Harris has been part of the Extrado team since April 2022. Amanda is responsible for managing the day to day workflow and supporting the team to ensure that all client deadlines are met. She is also most likely the friendly voice answering your phone call. Outside of office hours, Amanda loves camping with her family and her happy place is the beach!

Cherie Hartley

Cherie Hartley was born in Christchurch NZ and has been living here in Brisbane since 1983, therefore she is a true Aussie supporter. Cherie has been working with us as the bookkeeper since 2002. She specialises in many computer bookkeeping programmes including QuickBooks, MYOB, Reckon and Hubdoc. Cherie spends a lot of the week out at clients premises/offices completing their bookkeeping and payroll. Those shoe boxes that come in full of receipts go to Cherie, a nightmare for our clients turned into a pleasurable job for our bookkeeper. She passed her Cert IV in 2004, and has taught bookkeeping input to many clients that wish to learn. Outside of work, she is a wife to Jamie whom is a self-employed carpet layer and a proud mother of three grown up children. Cherie loves to stay active, so if she's not trying to stay fit with her running, boxing and toning sessions you will find her happy gardening in her vegetable and flower garden. Cherie has coached Ipswich Rep Junior netball for many years and she completed the 2007 Gold Coast Marathon.

Elena Ashford

Elena Ashford joined the Extrado team in early 2017 as a breath of fresh air at the front desk. Since then, Elena has increased her existing knowledge of a working accounting business to be a valuable all rounder in the office. Elena has a knowledge of bookkeeping and tax that allows her to assist client with a wide range of queries and help out the team when required. Elena is responsible for individual and micro business income returns as well as other GST and compliance obligations. Outside of the office, Elena has a passion for swimming and the outdoors. She enjoys speding time with her family and would love to take them back to Europe one day.

Ian Shaw

Ian Shaw is a director of Extrado with nearly 25 years experience, having started working in the firm as a trainee accountant in 1998. Ian holds honours degrees in both Accounting and Information Systems as well as being a Chartered Accountant (CA). Ian specialises in small business startups with a focus on business structuring. His IT experience means Ian is well suited to advise clients on the setup and implementation of computerised bookkeeping systems including Quickbooks, Xero, MYOB & Reckon. Ian is regularly engaged to perform business planning, cashflow forecasting, and business valuations for a range of clients. Ian loves working with clients on achieving their future goals including reviewing and implementing growth strategies and the administration of Self-Managed Superannuation Funds. Ian is a passionate volunteer of over 20 years with Make-A-Wish Australia where he gets the pleasure of granting cherished wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. In 2012, Ian was elected to the Board of Make-A-Wish where he utilised his extensive volunteering and financial experience. Ian is also a partner and co-founder of Website Tailor, a boutique internet marketing and website firm.

Jenny Smith

As founding partner of the firm, Jenny Smith brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. She has been working in the accounting profession since 1981. Since that time, she has gained an insight to a wide variety of industries and business structures. She relishes the challenge of working with clients to ensure they are achieving their business and personal goals, and trying to demystify the many regulations facing businesses today. Jenny is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants ANZ and a CPA. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys dancing, music, golf and getting behind her favorite sporting teams. Devoting time to community and volunteerism is also a passion being a long term Rotarian. Better to keep brain busy than have too much idle time!

Ryan Kim

Ryan is an accountant with over 8 years experience. As an accountant, he has worked with clients from diverse industries and has gained expertise in financial reporting, tax planning, and business advisory services. Ryan has a strong academic background in accounting and finance, having earned a Master's degree in Accounting from the University of the Sunshine Coast. Ryan's experience includes working with both small businesses and large corporations, helping them to manage their finances, minimize tax liabilities, and improve profitability. He is skilled in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and business activity statements, as well as advising clients on financial strategies that align with their goals. Ryan prides himself on staying up to date on the latest industry trends, software and regulations to ensure that he is always delivering the most effective solutions. Before coming to Australia, back in South Korea, Ryan served in the army for two years. With a Bachelor's degree in English Education, he worked as an English teacher for four years before following his passion to become an accountant in Australia. With his teaching skills, Ryan is able to explain accounting and tax concepts to people of all knowledge levels.

Steph Donaldson

Over the years Steph has worked in various occupations before settling into her current bookkeeping role. After high school, Steph completed a Certificate III in Office Administration and worked as an administration assistant for a number of years. In 2001 it was time for a change. Steph completed a Certificate III in Children's Services when she moved into the childcare industry before having children. Steph re-entered the workforce in 2014 as a retail assistant and soon became uniform shop convenor of her children's school P&C. By chance, Steph discovered her passion for bookkeeping there, when she took over the bookkeeping and payroll for the P&C employees. In February 2021, Steph was lucky enough to become part of the Extrado team and she completed her Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping in February 2022. She is always willing to learn and her favourite thing is a reconciled bank account!
