August began his training at the age of 12 in several forms of martial arts including Wing Tsun, Jeet Kune Do, boxing, kick boxing, BJJ, Etc. In 2004 he became a certified Defensive Tactics instructor under Dave Fowler and began teaching members of public safety to include security, law enforcement and military. In 2007 he discovered Israeli Defensive Tactics also known as Krav Maga. Soon after August became a certified instructor with Krav Maga Worldwide and began instructing under Master Cheung. In 2013 August became a certified instructor under Master Gabi Noah and International Krav Maga and is now a certified instructor under Expert Tsahi shemesh with Krav Maga Experts.
August has extensive experience as a qualified instructor and has a natural talent teaching anyone Krav Maga and self-defense successfully. He is an expert in use of force and will teach you effective methods of self defense and will show when and how to use it properly. August is passionate about Krav Maga, self-defense and passing this knowledge through service to you…the students. August continues to train with some of the best Krav Maga practitioners and instructors from Israel and around the world, so that he can bring the same to you. He believes everyone should have access to the most up to date and potentially lifesaving information.
