SDI - Key Persons
Anahita has worked with SDI since April 2018. She prepares specialty engineering of cold-formed metal framing for soffit systems, typical curtain walls & platforms, roof/floor joists & load-bearing structures, & structural design of roof curbs. Some of the project types she has worked on include high school, car dealership, hospital, and airport. & etc. Anahita has strong knowledge of concrete, steel, and hydraulic structures design. She is working toward getting EIT certification very soon.
Anahita earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from BASU university & she continued her graduate studies & received her M.Sc. degree in civil engineering-hydraulic structures from Tehran Science & Research university.
Anahita & her family live in Atlanta. Her favorite hobbies are playing piano, listening to music, playing Badminton, reading novels and books, and watching movies.
Calvin has worked with SDI since 2014. Calvin prepares calculations in specialty design for curb/support rail design of roof top units and structures. He has specialized in design of structural steel, concrete, wood, and load-bearing and infill cold-formed metal framing. Some of these projects include Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton in Brandon, FL, and The Grayco Development in Bluffton, SC.
Calvin graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an Emphasis on Structures and Construction. Calvin was a Codes Consultant with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, where he led State Task Forces consisting of architects, engineers, and contractors on the adoption of the mandatory and permissive ICC codes into Georgia State Law. He and his wife Candice currently live in Suwanee, GA with their three children.
Cherif joined the SDI team back in Oct 2019 as a Panel Designer on the Prefabrication Panel team. His background is in architectural design and is strongly knowledgeable in 2D and 3D modeling softwares. At his time with SDI, he has participated in drafting and penalization of many light gauge and load bearing walls projects.
Cherif graduated with a Master's of Science in Architecture from University of Constantine in Algeria. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, reading, and anything tech.
Darioush (Don) Hovanloo has worked with SDI since 1999. He prepares specialty engineering of cold-formed metal framing for typical curtain walls, soffits, floor and roof joists, and single-story load-bearing structures.
Darioush graduated from Florida Institute of Technology. He is married with two kids. He spends his free time working around the house.

- Senior Wall Panel Designer
Jason has worked for SDI since 2007. He is the head of SDI's Panel shop drawing and BIM department. Creating detailed, fully dimensioned panels using primarily the Vertex BD software along with other software's if required. The panel shops include a bill of material for each individual panel, a layout plan of the panels and an overall material list per each level for material orders. Jason also has experience in Revit 3D modeling and design. He is responsible for keeping up to date with BIM software's and practices. Significant projects he has worked on include The Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport and the many Whole Foods Markets for which he provided Revit models. Jason graduated with an Associates degree in drafting and applied sciences. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and camping.
Jayesh has worked with SDI from 2016 and specializes in cold-form steel engineering. He has performed engineering on more than 300 projects of small to large scale for commercial and residential clients. His recent projects include CFS façade design of Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Charlotte; Fermi Lab, Chicago and various mixed used large scale CFS façade for commercial buildings.
Jayesh graduated with a Master's in Civil Engineering (Structures) from Clemson University, SC and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, cross country road trips, and spend quality family time with the kids.
Michael Shewchuk is a Senior Engineer that has worked with SDI since 2005. He specializes in load-bearing and shear wall design of single and multi-story buildings. Recent projects include design of the 7-story load-bearing Residence Inn by Marriott at Spruill Arts Center in Dunwoody, Georgia, and roof framing for the new Augusta National Golf Club Headquarters building.
Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Engineering) from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 2001. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Georgia and Massachusetts. He was a board member of the southeast chapter of Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) from 2009-2014. He and his wife, Diana, live in Roswell with their two daughters.
Michelle Walker is a Project Engineer that has worked with SDI since 2002. She specializes in curtain wall commercial buildings. Notable projects include the Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and The Legends at Broomfield Assisted Living & Memory Care Facility, a 82,000 sf two story load bearing building in Broomfield, CO.
Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia in 1998. She and her husband reside in Smithfield, VA with their three girls, in her free time she enjoys spending time in her garden.

Niloufar has been the Office Manager at SDI since June 2017. Her responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations, payroll, benefits coordination, job entry, invoicing, coordinating team building activities, and reception. Niloufar graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business. She is married, has two children, and is passionate about traveling & spending time with family.
Stefan has been with SDI since 2015. He specializes in the design of various cold-formed steel framing systems, which includes typical exterior curtainwalls, floor/roof joists, trusses, miscellaneous interior framing, and single and multi-story load bearing buildings. Recent projects include design of the 6-story load-bearing 4111-4113 Connecticut Avenue in Washington, DC and the exterior framing of Echo Street West in Atlanta, GA.
Stefan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Georgia. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking, and playing/watching soccer (the real football).
Yi specializes in design of multi-story senior living/student housing/hotel with CFS and wood framing, and infill cold-formed metal framing. Recent projects include Homewood Suites in Charlotte, NC, and Province Village in Pearland, TX. Yi graduated from West Virginia University and Shanghai Jiaotong University with Bachelor and graduate degrees in Civil/structural Engineering. He is a registered PE in the state of Georgia and several other states. He and his wife Jin currently live in Alpharetta, GA with their two children. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer.
