Before joining Smith Tempel, Larry held senior-level positions in two Atlanta intellectual property law firms. Larry began his intellectual property law career in San Diego, and was an electrical/computer engineer prior to entering the practice of law.

Matt has been involved with a number of start-up ventures over his career and is a principal in Recycool, Inc., a Georgia-based manufacturer and distributor of recyclable consumer products. Additionally, Matt volunteers in various capacities local to his residence in Athens, GA including through his church and the Western Circuit Bar Association.
Experience
Prior to pursuing his legal career, Matt spent 15 years in various engineering positions within the manufacturing and process sectors. He has held process and design engineering positions within the automotive industry where he gained practical knowledge in product design and discrete manufacturing techniques. Later, Matt was a successful account manager for a manufacturer's representative firm that specialized in the application and sale of industrial process controls to the pulp and paper, specialty chemical and power industries.

Bob has represented some of the top electrical and software companies in the world. Bob is an accomplished patent attorney, but also practices in all areas of IP law.
Experience
Bob's patent prosecution experience includes a wide range of electrical, mechanical, software and electromechanical technologies. Bob's electrical experience includes analog and digital circuits, including graphics processors, image processing techniques, application-specific integrated circuits, integrated circuit fabrication techniques, opto-electronic devices and telecommunications including DSL, cellular communications and other RF technologies. Bob's mechanical experience includes medical devices, auto-maintenance and construction tools, as well as devices for manipulating optical paths. Bob's software experience includes various application-specific software designs, compilers, echo cancellation, network communications and cryptographic methods. Bob's electromechanical experience includes ultrasound transducers and surgical devices.
Bob's previous work experience includes nearly 13 years as an electrical engineer with Hughes Aircraft Company and Raytheon. Bob's engineering career included support of a number of field engineering programs including the installation of missile test equipment, as well as the integration and test of telecommunications satellite systems. Bob also supported various customer sites as a system engineer and as a software test engineer.
