Dr. Drew and the Braces520 family is thrilled to introduce our newest orthodontist, Dr. Brian Decker, who moved to Tucson to partner with Dr. Drew in June 2023. Dr. Decker believes the art of orthodontics is more than just creating straight teeth, and he takes a modern and holistic approach to his patients, prioritizing facial harmony, symmetry of the lips and gums, and improving airway and breathing. Dr. Drew calls him the "Invisalign Protégé", and Dr. Decker is quickly making a name for himself as one of the best young Invisalign doctors in the field. Dr. Decker grew up on a small farm in the quaint town of Parrish, Florida (Tampa area). He was valedictorian of Palmetto High School and was a multi-sport varsity athlete. He is the oldest of 11 children (that's not a typo!) and is very close to his family. He married his high-school sweetheart, Jessica, and they welcomed their first in August 2023, their son Milo. Dr. Decker was a graduate of the Honors College at the University of South Florida, earning a dual degree- a B.S. in Biomedical Science and a B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in Astronomy. He was also a violinist in the USF Orchestra. He went on to complete his DMD degree at the LECOM School of Dental Medicine. He then completed his orthodontic residency at Roseman University in Las Vegas. During his 3 years in residency, he took additional classes to earn an MBA, all while working Saturdays and Sundays at a very fast paced pediatric dentistry practice. This work greatly improved his skills in working with children. In addition to creating beautiful teeth, he makes facial balance a priority through placing the teeth in positions that are harmonious with the face and optimally support the lips. He believes the "micro-esthetics" are often overlooked in orthodontics, so he obsesses over every detail of his patients smile. He believes to achieve the best smile possible, the gums and teeth need proper contours and symmetry, so he routinely performs beautiful and painless reshaping of uneven gums and teeth when treatment ends. He has extensive training and experience in many of the latest cutting-edge innovations in orthodontics, such as laser gingivectomies, non-surgical gummy smile correction with TAD's, 3D printing, Maxillary Skeletal Expansion (MSE), and LightForce custom braces. He has brought these and many other innovative techniques to Braces520.
