Barry Simms - CEO

With over 22 years of experience in clinical research and pharmaceutical services, Barry Simms has dedicated his career to advancing the development of novel therapeutics through expert organizational leadership. His executive management skills are showcased in his oversight of large-scale operations including project management, clinical kitting, accessioning, and biorepository for companies with more than 700 employees, while his notable proficiency in business development is exemplified in his experience with high-growth, private equity-owned organizations, oversight of global laboratory partnership programs, and work enhancing operational efficiency, productivity, and consistency with private equity owners and Boards of Directors. Prior to Elligo, Simms was Chief Operating Officer and Interim CEO at LabConnect, and a Senior Executive for several research organizations. He earned a B.S. in accounting from the University of Virginia at Wise and an MBA from King University. He has also received several accolades including an Outstanding Achievement in Accounting Award and placement on the Executive Steering Committee of PharmaTimes.

Brandon Cormier - Chief Commercial Officer

With direct, hands-on management experience working with executive management, P&L management, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational optimization, Brandon Cormier brings diverse business experience to his role as Elligo's Chief Commercial Officer. He has a long history of exceeding sales goals and nurturing relationships that support a company's growth. Cormier's nearly 20-year career has been focused in the life sciences. Before Elligo, he held various business development roles of increasing responsibility at Syneos Health, Ventana Clinical Research, INC Research, GlaxoSmithKline, and DuPont Pharma. Cormier was also a member of the board of directors for INC Research Canada, and received Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and economics from the University of Toronto.

Christian Burns

Christian Burns, an avid entrepreneur and research advocate, was the President and Co-founder of ClinEdge and BTC of New Bedford and GuideStar Research and is now President of ClinEdge Research Practice Management at Elligo Health Research. He is passionate about serving patients and sites by identifying innovative solutions that will transform the traditional clinical trial model. Christian's passion for clinical research began when he first participated in a clinical trial at a young age. Since then, his fascination with the industry and entrepreneurial spirit has continually pushed him to find ways to transform and improve upon existing processes, from site operations and management to digital marketing and technology. Through his leadership at Elligo's ClinEdge Research Practice Management, Christian will continue to expand much-needed services and offer innovative solutions within the clinical research space.

Faith Holmes

Faith Holmes, M.D., brings more than 30 years of experience in direct patient care, and 11 years of medical practice management to her role as Elligo's Chief Medical Officer. Her unique perspective plays an important part in building the company's network of Research Ready physician practices and preparing them to conduct research. Holmes' rich perspective - including experience in family medicine, hospice, and palliative medicine that spans solo practice and single specialty and multispecialty group practices - allows her to build rapport with study managers, site staff, and investigators, and provide medical and scientific knowledge to support future growth. Holmes has served as the Principal Investigator for interventional, diagnostic device, and observational trials in several therapeutic indications in Elligo's eSolutions model and at the Elligo Clinical Research Center. She earned her B.S. in chemistry and biology from Trevecca University, her M.D. from ORU School of Medicine, and is board certified in family medicine and hospice and palliative medicine.

Jacylyn A. Dougherty

Jacylyn Dougherty has more than 25 years of progressive product, technology, and digital transformation experience in the life sciences industry. As Elligo's Chief Product Officer, she is responsible for product strategy and delivery in support of Elligo's tech-enabled service model. Powered by her passion for delivering unique value to customers and enabling transformation in clinical trial conduct, she manages a team that includes product managers, engineers, UX designers, product support, and implementation specialists that developed and continually improve Elligo's proprietary IntElligo® Research Stack and Study Marketplace technology. Before joining Elligo, Jacylyn was the Chief Information Officer at Theorem Clinical Research, where she drove strategic direction and delivery of product development and global technology solutions. Through her leadership, the business enabled digital transformation for various functions and new clinical services. She was also a key part of the executive team that spun the company out of a Fortune 500 parent and achieved unprecedented valuation growth within four years of private equity ownership. Jacylyn has her B.A. in management information systems and marketing from LaSalle University, and an MBA from Villanova University.

Karen Flaherty - CFO

With nearly three decades of experience in finance and accounting, Karen Flaherty has dedicated a large part of her career to clinical research in various capacities including financial planning and analysis, sales analysis, project cost accounting, contracts and proposal development, financial systems implementation, and general accounting. Prior to Elligo, Flaherty was the Chief Financial Officer and Consultant for Engine 2 for Life, Executive Director of Finance for Pharmaco/PPD, and an independent consultant for a number of other small businesses and nonprofits. Currently, she is a board member and treasurer for the Eanes Education Foundation.

Michael Gibertini

Michael Gibertini brings over 30 years of experience to Elligo Health Research. Prior to joining the team, Gibertini served as the President of Clinical Development at Syneos Health (formerly INC Research) leading a high-growth, scientifically oriented CNS business unit. During his tenure at the company he was responsible for multiple organizational innovations that produced industry-leading growth and success. Gibertini's career began in the United States Air Force as a resident in clinical psychology. He held positions of increasing responsibility at the University of South Florida where he received his postdoctoral fellow from the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. From there he went on to work as a senior laboratory scientist in behavioral immunology and environmental toxicology at the Midwest Research Institute before joining Organon Pharmaceuticals as the clinical development team leader in neuroscience.

Rebecca Kush

Rebecca Kush founded the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC) where she spent 20 years leading the development of global clinical research data standards to streamline clinical research. While there, she served as the President and CEO and had an integral role in the development of methods and processes to link research and healthcare. Throughout her career, Kush has also worked for the U.S. National Institutes of Health, academia, a global contract research organization, and both U.S. and Japanese pharmaceutical companies. She has a doctorate in physiology and pharmacology from the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine.
