The company has been given registration by the Department of Insurance, Govt. of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to carry on insurance business in Bangladesh in respect of Motor, Marine, Fire and Miscellaneous with effect from November 18, 1999. Mr. A K M Monirul Hoque is the founder Chairman of NICL. The initial paid up capital of the company was Tk. 6 Crore.
