Gary provides a wide range of legal services to individuals and small to medium-sized businesses. In addition to his focus on firearm laws, he helps clients with their estate planning needs, businesses startups, and compliance issues. He works with clients to take a proactive rather than a reactive approach to help ensure they remain in compliance with federal and state laws and to meet their business and personal estate planning goals. He is also available when problems arise, whether they involve licensing, compliance, or firearms law issues. He has also been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Northern and the Eastern Districts of California. While obtaining his accounting degree, Gary was a member of Beta Alpha Psi (National Accounting Honor Society), Beta Gamma Sigma (National Business Honor Society, where he served as President), and Phi Kappa Phi (National Honor Society). He began his professional career in 1985 after obtaining a B.B.A. in accounting. He immediately passed the national exam and worked as a C.P.A. for several years. During that time he gained a solid understanding of the financial and management issues facing businesses, as well as their tax and regulatory burdens. He earned his law degree in 1991 and began practicing law in California and later in Texas. While attending law school, he was the recipient of the J. Reuben Clark Law School Academic Scholarship and worked on the Brigham Young University Public Law Journal. During his more than twenty-eight years of practicing law, Gary has represented businesses and individuals in a wide range of legal areas, including tax and regulatory issues, civil litigation, estate and business planning, and pursuing appeals in state and federal courts. He has served as a member of the Fresno Estate Planning Council and the International Association for Financial Planning/Financial Planning Association, where he served as president of local chapter in 1999. Gary supports the Second Amendment as it was intended and believes this right must not be infringed. Until these infringements have been removed, however, he works with clients to help them understand and comply with these laws so they can exercise this right recognized under the Bill of Rights. He has written two extensive volumes on federal and Texas firearm laws and presented several continuing education courses for attorneys on firearm laws. He is an Endowment Life Member of the National Rifle Association and also a member of the Texas State Rifle Association, the Texas Handgun Association, the California Rifle and Pistol Club, the Second Amendment Foundation, and the U.S. Concealed Carry Association.
