Aaron Cook

Aaron has worked in the architectural profession for two decades and has been with TVA since 2012. Aaron has expertise in exterior design and detailing and takes personal pride in making his project work both functional and beautiful. Aaron loves the challenge of finding unique and innovative ways to look at building and enjoys working with his team toward solutions for clients. Outside of the office, Aaron is a runner and dedicated dad who enjoys coaching his daughters' soccer and basketball teams.

Allyson Oar

With a strong background in public, civic, and multifamily housing projects, Allyson infuses all her projects with a passion for sustainability and social equity. Her attention to detail, along with strong communication skills to organize teams, ensures that projects move seamlessly from initial planning and design phases to construction administration. Allyson loves all aspects of the design process, and leverages her expertise in digital tools to push for innovative solutions. As a 5th generation Oregonian, she enjoys spending time hiking in the forest with her husband, cooking and preserving the abundant fresh produce from our region, and volunteering with AFO's Architects in Schools.

Bonnie Chiu-Wong

Well-versed in a variety of project types, Bonnie has dedicated herself to her work since joining TVA in 2012. Bonnie has a depth of experience in corporate office and multi-family housing projects and is a go-to for regulatory questions related to land use planning in the City of Portland. Bonnie's favorite parts of the process are exploring early design concepts and building strong, collaborative relationships with clients. Outside of the office, Bonnie spends time with her family and two adorable kids traveling, hiking, creating art, and cheering for the Timbers and Blazers.

Charlie Swanson Garney

Charlie entered the architecture profession with a diverse pre-professional background that includes furniture fabrication, customer service, and the life sciences. His passion for architecture began with single-family homes and later grew to include a wide variety of project types. Charlie enjoys using a collaborative approach to craft spaces with an emphasis on human scale and comfort, lifestyle, diurnal and seasonal cycles, and urbanism. Outside of the office, you will find Charlie enjoying time with his family, spending time in nature, and working on his home and garden.

Dimitri Englert

Dimitri has spent over two decades working in the architectural profession and at TVA since 2011. With specialized knowledge in the healthcare, higher education, and corporate commercial sectors, Dimitri focuses on how buildings can satisfy a need for both aesthetics and functionality. From initial design explorations to seeing the building come to life, Dimitri is passionate about the process of architecture. Dimitri serves on the DBIA (Design-Build Institute of America) programs committee in Portland. He spends his time outside of the office hiking in the mountains with his daughter, designing and building furniture, and creating mixed media art.

Elisa Rocha

Working with TVA since 2004, Elisa is an invaluable part of our team, and we rely on her for project management, consultant coordination, sustainable design, and jurisdictional review. Elisa loves the architectural design process from startup to completion and enjoys leveraging the creativity and collective expertise of teams to realize a project vision. She is passionate about the rich history of the TVA brand and the exceptional thoughtfulness of the firm's work, which seeks to innovate and address changes in the environment and community. Outside of TVA, Elisa is a member of the AIA Committee on the Environment, a Portland Bureau of Emergency Management Neighborhood Team Member (PNET), and a vocalist in Espacio Flamenco.

Elizabeth Collins

Elizabeth brings 30 years of leadership and hands-on technical skills to manage TVA's IT system. We know how good she is at her job because we never think about how we will do our work, we simply sit down and do it. Elizabeth enjoys blending high tech work with low tech hobbies and is an avid birder and environmentalist, focusing on global habitat protection for birds and other wildlife.

Eric Li

A core member of TVA since 1997, Eric brings in-depth regulatory and technical knowledge to our team. A natural collaborator, Eric has broad experience with many project types and is always willing to answer a question or help solve a problem. As TVA's Education Director and Intern Development Coordinator, Eric lives into his belief that architects leave not only permanent physical footprints but also legacies to the next generation of practitioners. Eric is a self-professed lover of "geek culture," an avid Oregon Ducks fan, and is the managing editor of The Scariest Things, a horror movie-themed web-magazine, and podcast.

Erik Dorsett

A highly organized worker and rigorous thinker, Erik has earned the trust and respect of his colleagues with his knowledge and reliability. Erik's favorite part of the architectural design process is developing solutions that are functional, beautiful, and satisfy the complex needs of a specific project. With specialized experience in multi-family housing, retail, and commercial spaces, Erik's approach is to create architecture that is contextual and enhances their surroundings, as well as designing spaces that are pleasant and uplifting to inhabit. Outside of the office, Erik skis, hikes, camps, and plays soccer.

Erin Brouillette

Erin joined our team in 2016 and brought with her a wealth of specialized experience in retail, corporate office interiors, and tenant improvements. With a keen eye for design and a strategic mind, Erin has proven to be an asset to TVA and our clients. Erin finds personal satisfaction in connecting with clients, understanding their needs, and translating them into beautiful and successful architectural design solutions. Erin's love for design comes home with her where, in her downtime, she enjoys creating useful and unique household items.

Flo Woodbury

Since joining our firm in 2017, we have learned that Flo is a quiet force. She embraces working on a variety of project types and strives to provide thoughtful solutions for each client. Flo sees each new project as an opportunity to enhance the environment and contribute to the vibrancy of the community. Her experience spans renovation and new construction of higher education facilities, clinics, multi-family housing, and office buildings. Outside of the office, Flo likes to spend time with her family and finds inspiration in the outdoors, especially on the water.

Iain MacKenzie

Born and raised in the Highlands of Scotland, Iain holds degrees from the University of Strathclyde and the University of Edinburgh. Iain is dedicated to the process of architecture, from putting ink to paper to seeing the project through construction. Since joining TVA in 2015, Iain has developed specialized knowledge in multifamily housing. As the creator of Next Portland, a blog that covers development in the City of Portland, Iain has become the firm's go-to for land use and policy questions.

Jessica Pearre

Jessica joined TVA in 2011 with excellent experience in the delivery of highly technical projects. She has since deepened her knowledge and experience in laboratory, higher education, healthcare, and commercial projects. Her strength lies in her ability to simultaneously track and respond to the day-to-day activity for several projects while still using her design abilities to problem-solve and create great spaces. Jessica is always looking for the ‘aha moment' that results from creative collaboration with clients and the TVA team. Outside of the office, Jessica can be found spending quality time with her family, and taking advantage of the Pacific Northwest's network of hiking and running trails.

John Gonzales

John is a visualization specialist who has been creating photo-realistic renderings for our TVA clients since 2012. TVA uses renderings to communicate effectively with clients and generate dialogue and excitement about a project before it ever breaks ground. John plays a pivotal role within the team using 3D modeling and rendering to develop the design throughout the process and visually communicate our story about the built environment. In his downtime, John enjoys the Portland food scene and takes any chance to be outdoors anywhere from the Columbia Gorge to the Oregon Coast.

John Jamiel

John had years of experience in a wide variety of building types across all design and construction phases when he joined TVA in 2014. He has continued to add to his knowledge base and hone his design skills while developing into a leadership role within the office. His passion for architecture lies in experiencing the final built product. He finds value and satisfaction in the realization of the collaborative relationships and creative ideas required to conceive, develop, and construct a beautiful building. John enjoys spending his time with family outdoors in our gorgeous Pacific Northwest environment, ran as part of the TVA Hood to Coast team for the first time in 2019, and is an avid golfer. We don't bet against John on the course.

Katie Seifert

Katie is passionate about seeing details take form during the construction of a project and witnessing the tangible result as client needs and the team's vision and hard work come together. After joining the TVA team in 2014, Katie embraced an essential internal role as our Materials Library Manager. She enthusiastically keeps us informed about new products and sustainable materials and is a wonderful resource to everyone in the office as we develop our project interiors. Katie also works hard to support a positive office culture often spearheading planning efforts for all-office events and recognition of individual accomplishments and milestones. Outside of the office, Katie rock climbs, skis, backpacks, and is always looking for new Portland restaurants.

Kelly Cady

Since joining the firm in 2008, Kelly has been the driver of the evolution of our visualization capabilities. With a passion for 3D visualization, Kelly uses his background as a licensed architect to give clients a realistic idea of what their completed design will look like and how it will feel to experience the space long before their project even breaks ground. Kelly has a unique ability to generate photorealistic renderings of highly complex forms. He is a collaborative and creative problem solver, who is also a musician in his free time.

Lauren Yauk

With a passion for data and numbers, Lauren's knowledge of accounting practices specific to the A&E industry ensures that TVA is in a strong financial position. When Lauren is not busy crunching numbers, you will find her in her garden, cooking or backpacking. Any spare moments are reserved for her Boxer puppy Finley who is a project unto himself.

Maddie Belgrave

With a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Portland State University, and Master's degree specializing in Urban Design from the University of Oregon, Maddie is passionate about visual storytelling and blurring the lines between architecture and art through graphic representation. She believes that successful design can foster social interaction, empower communities, and elevate the human experience. When not in the office, Maddie teaches Barre classes at her local studio, and enjoys bike riding and spending time at the Oregon coast.

Mandy Butler

Driven by a love of learning, Mandy has been developing her architectural interests in the areas of healthcare and laboratory design for over 20 years. Passionate about the design process and development of high performing teams, she works closely with clients to understand their needs and applies collected experience and research to make their day-to-day lives more comfortable and efficient. Mandy recharges and finds creative inspiration in the mountains hiking and snowboarding and cherishes time spent with family and friends, particularly when everyone is cheering on the Portland Thorns.

Mark Williams

Since 2004, Mark has brought invaluable expertise to our team, particularly in the area of exterior envelope and facade detailing. Additionally, we rely on Mark for his calm demeanor, excellent project management, and organizational skills, and sharp design eye. Mark is fueled in his work by the sense of teamwork that comes from collaborating with key stakeholders to take a project from concept to construction. An avid cyclist and sea kayaker, Mark takes full advantage of the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Nick Williams

Nick is a graduate of the University of Idaho, where he completed both bachelor's and a master's degrees and has been serving clients on behalf of TVA since 2002. With excellent skills in design, construction detailing, and management, Nick is a welcome addition to every project. He is always looking for ways to integrate sustainability and stewardship into his work and finds great satisfaction in seeing design goals realized in completed projects across Oregon. Nick takes advantage of the Pacific Northwest's outdoor beauty through trail running, cycling, and getting out on the water.

Robert Thompson

Job Titles:

As founder and lead design principal, Robert Thompson's work has focused on major corporate campuses, sports and recreational facilities, cultural projects, high-rise towers, and high-profile university projects. Under Robert's leadership, TVA has received over 74 local, national and international awards for excellence in design. In 1993 Thompson was the youngest American architect to be elected into the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows for his contribution to the profession in the category of design. Recent work includes the Park Avenue West Tower, a 32 story mixed use high rise in downtown Portland, the Matthew Knight Arena and Ford Alumni Center on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, corporate headquarters for Banfield Pet Hospital, Nike, Inc.'s Asian campus located in Shanghai, China, a private aircraft hangar for Nike Chairman Phil Knight, the Evo and John Ross residential high rise towers in Los Angles and Portland, respectively, as well as 15 flagship Nike retail stores across the United States.

Spencer Russell

Spencer has been with TVA since 2016, coming to our firm with a degree from the University of Oregon and a full year of studying architecture in Copenhagen with leading Danish studios. Spencer specializes in parametric design, BIM modeling, graphic design, and 3D printing. His passion for finding unique solutions for clients is rooted in the discovery of new materials and technology to bring it to life. When he's not designing, Spencer can be found designing. He builds art installations and does digital and hand media illustration and animation.

Susan Hargrave

Susan has been in the architecture field since 1975 and a member of our TVA team in 1997. In addition to technical skill and thoughtful leadership, Susan brings an in-depth knowledge of documentation to the TVA staff and finds passion in seeing a drawn vision come to fruition in real life. Susan's love of great design and art extends past architecture; she also has a passion for vintage cars, cooking, and music.

Tim Wybenga

Job Titles:

Tim came to TVA in 2004 with a decade of architectural experience under his belt and has been designing, conceptualizing, and strategizing for clients ever since. At the core, Tim is a problem solver. He specializes in difficult sites, challenging financial concerns, and complex jurisdictional criteria. Outside of his role as Principal with TVA, Tim can be found spending time with his family and watching international soccer, specifically the Dutch National team. (Hup Hup!)

Zach Pennell

Since joining TVA in 2011, Zach has become a firm resource for the elegant communication of ideas and information in all forms. Taking on both project-specific and firm-wide work, Zach is a master at conveying information: from drawing to graphics to diagrams and words. Zach's graphic design command regularly puts him in the position to lead the development of graphics and layouts within a team. This type of in-depth sharing leads to solid collaborative relationships between him and his clients. Outside of the office, Zach runs, bikes, and participates in endurance events. He also has an impressive collection of athletic footwear.
