Amanda Lambert

Amanda leads our Central Services which includes our people function, programme office, technology and business services. Prior to joining Nuffield Health in 2021, Amanda held a number of senior leadership roles including leading the customer and sales divisions for Hutchison 3G, the digital team at O2 and a variety of roles at Xerox. Amanda brings extensive experience of leading digital transformation in customer focused organisations.

Caroline Smith

Caroline has a wealth of industry experience spanning across a wide range of healthcare services. This relates to regulated and unregulated, outsourced services alongside the pharmaceutical industry and direct to the NHS. Prior to Nuffield Health, Caroline was a Partner at Management Solutions for Healthcare where she worked with Healthcare at Home, A.S. Watson and the Pennine Acute NHS Hospitals Trust. At Nuffield Health, Caroline is responsible for front line delivery of all services across the UK and for maintaining the highest quality, regulatory and safety standards to meet the increasing demand for health and wellbeing services.

Dr Junaid Bajwa

Dr Junaid Bajwa has spent more than 15 years working across primary care, secondary care and public health settings, in addition to acting as a policy maker within the UK, where he specialises in informatics, digital transformation, and leadership. Junaid has also acted as a consultant for healthcare systems across the US, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the Middle East and Europe. He is currently a practising physician in the NHS and occupies the roles of Chief Medical Scientist at Microsoft Research and Non-Executive Director at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Natalie-Jane Macdonald - Chairman

Natalie-Jane was appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors in 2020, after joining the Nuffield Health Board in January 2017. Her career has been in healthcare, beginning as a physician and clinical lecturer, then joining the British Medical Association as Head of Medical Ethics and International Affairs. She held a variety of roles at Bupa, including as Managing Director of Bupa's UK insurance and wellbeing division. She subsequently became CEO of Acorn Care and Education. She is a Non-Executive Director of the Private Healthcare& Information Network (PHIN) and an associate Non-Executive Director at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Elizabeth Robb

Elizabeth spent most of her clinical career as a Nurse and Midwife in the NHS, including 17 years as Director of Nursing, Deputy Chief Executive and Acting CEO in two NHS Trusts both in Somerset and London. Subsequently she was CEO of the Florence Nightingale Foundation for 7 years, where the emphasis was on improving health, clinical outcomes and patient experience through building nursing and midwifery research and leadership capacity and capability. Elizabeth's Non-Executive career included a period as Non-Executive Director at NHS Professionals Ltd, which included a secondment to Chief Nurse as part of the pandemic response. Currently she is a Non-Executive Director of Somerset Care Limited, a not-for-profit provider of social care, and volunteers on the vaccination programme for St John Ambulance. In 2015 Elizabeth was awarded an OBE for Services to Nursing and Midwifery.

James Murray

James joined Nuffield Health in 2020 as Trading & Sales Director, taking up the post of Chief Commercial Officer in December 2022 leading propositions and sales across the Charity's trading services, before taking up his current role of Chief Customer and Strategy Officer at the beginning of 2024. James has a wealth of experience in sales and commercial roles across the healthcare industry, having previously held senior positions at companies including Vitality and Lloyds Pharmacy.

Lee Rochford

Job Titles:

Lee joined the Board in 2023 as a Non-Executive Director, and immediately took on the role of Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee. He has spent over 30 years in financial services, most recently as CEO at Arrow Global plc, a listed integrated asset manager that Lee took through both a strategic and cultural transformation before taking the business private. Prior to that, Lee was CFO at Virgin Money, playing an instrumental role in taking the business public, as well as working at a variety of international banks advising financial services businesses on their balance sheet management and funding strategies.

Mark Stansfeld

Mark Stansfeld has over 30 years' experience in the telecoms and digital economy, driving innovation and adoption of new technologies and businesses, such as giffgaff, a unique community-led mobile operator, as well as being a board member that led O2 to become the UK's market leader. Currently, Mark is chairing DCMS's largest 5G trials testbed with WM5G, aimed at driving adoption at scale of 5G technologies in health, manufacturing and transport. He is passionate about driving digital adoption for the benefit of all and is also a non-executive director for Quickline, a broadband provider addressing the digital divide for rural communities. He has previously been a non-executive director of the West Midlands SHA and the West Bromwich Building Society.

Mary O'Reilly

Having worked with Nuffield Health since 2016, Mary became Chief Communication Officer in November 2022. In this role Mary leads Nuffield Health's brand, internal and external communications and marketing. Mary brings a wealth of experience strategic communications, having worked for more than 20 years working across high profile FTSE100 listed, privately held and publicly funded companies. Prior to joining Nuffield Health, Mary held senior leadership positions with Fremantle Media and BBC Worldwide, where she was the Director of Communications for the Americas.

Matthew Lynn - CFO

Having taken up the role on an interim basis in December 2022, Matthew joined the Charity permanently as Chief Financial Officer in April 2023 leading the Charity's finance, legal and risk teams. A qualified accountant with 16 years post-qualification experience, Matthew specialises in financial leadership in healthcare and not-for-profit organisations. He joined Nuffield Health from PwC where he was a senior director in the Government and Health Industries team.

Neil Sachdev

Neil brings strong property and retail experience to Nuffield Health. Previously, Neil was Group Property Director of J Sainsbury and before that served for 28 years with Tesco, where he rose to be Stores Board Director, responsible for property and operations for the UK business. He also holds a number of public sector positions and was awarded an MBE for his work in relation to Energy Efficiency & Sustainability in the Retail sector. Neil is a Council Member of the University of Warwick, where he also chairs Warwick Business School, non-executive director of Network Rail Property Ltd and chairs Bonhill Holdings Group and CakeBox.

Patrick Figgis

Patrick Figgis joined the Nuffield Health Board in 2018. He was previously a Senior Partner at PwC where he led their Global Health practice. He was a member of PwC UK's Board and Chair of their Non-Executive Director forum. During the course of Patrick's career he has advised numerous UK and international clients, especially those going through change. Most recently he has focused on the healthcare sector. Patrick has supported several charities and is currently Chairman of Bowel Cancer UK.

Steve Gray - CEO

Steve took over the role of Nuffield Health Chief Executive Officer on 1 December 2015. He previously led the development of the health and wellbeing services at both Lloyds Pharmacy and subsequently at AS Watson, where he was Healthcare Director. Steve has over 40 years' experience, with the past 25 years in management, working primarily within the healthcare sector, holding a number of leadership, commercial and operational positions.

Steve Maslin

Steve joined the Nuffield Health Board in July 2017. Steve is an audit and transaction services partner for Grant Thornton, who specialises in listed and large private businesses which operate in multiple countries. He was previously Chair of the Partnership Oversight Board of Grant Thornton UK LLP from 2008 to 2016 and was the Head of Assurance Services of the firm from 1999 to 2006.

Tracey Killen

Tracey joined the Nuffield Health Board of Directors in July 2023. She brings a wealth of non-executive experience. She is Trustee of Dorset and Somerset air ambulance service and a Fellow of Be the Business, and a Non-Executive Director of Morgan Sindall Group, the leading construction and regeneration business where she also Chairs the remuneration committee. Prior to this, she was Executive Director of People for the John Lewis Partnership where she was accountable for shaping and delivering a distinctive and competitive employment proposition for 92,000 Partners.
