Olivia Mockus completed a Bachelor of Science degree at Edinburgh Napier University. From there, she worked in software development before training to do her PGCE at Sussex University in KS2 / KS3 Computer Science. Following this, she decided that primary school was her preference and worked at Hawkes Farm Academy in both Year 4 and Year 5. Olivia trained to be a SENDCo from 2022 - 2023 and completed her National Award in Special Educational Needs Coordination at Chichester University.

Jo Ford completed a combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree at Canterbury Christ Church University. From there, she completed a Primary PGCE at the University of Brighton. During her career, she has taught a range of year groups across Hawkes Farm and Phoenix Academy. Jo also holds a National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership.

Mrs Karen Hayward

Karen Hayward completed her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Music with English Studies in 2006 and gained Qualified Teacher Status in 2009. Since qualification she has taught in mainstream, alternative provision and specialist settings, predominantly working within East Sussex. Karen joined STEP Academy Trust in May 2017 and has been a SENDCo and Inclusion Lead since 2019. During this time she completed her NASENCo qualification and a Masters in Education through the University of Chichester. Karen jointly leads SEND as the MAT SEND Leader across STEP Academy Trust and is currently completing IPSEA training in SEND Law.
