Ms. Kalicki is also a member in good standing of the New York State Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association, and the International Bar Association. Ms. Kalicki has served as Chair, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in investment and commercial cases under the rules of ICSID, the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), ICC, AAA and International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), LCIA, Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre (BCICAC), Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre (ADCCAC) and JAMS International, as well as under the Rules of UNCITRAL and the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution. Ms. Kalicki has also served as appointing authority for the PCA. Ms. Kalicki served as counsel in international arbitrations for more than 25 years, prior to her 2016 transition to full-time independent arbitrator work. Ms. Kalicki is co-editor of two books, Reshaping The Investor-State Dispute Settlement System: Journeys For The 21st Century (Brill Nijhoff and TDM-OGEMID 2015) and Evolution And Adaptation: The Future Of International Arbitration (ICCA Congress Series No. 20, Wolters Kluwer 2019). She is also a frequent writer and speaker on arbitration topics. Her articles, chapters and blog posts are listed below, followed by her speeches and panel presentations from 2016 to the present. Ms. Kalicki is a member of the ICCA Governing Board and the Chair of its Initiatives Committee. She previously served on the LCIA Court (including as Vice President of the Court), as a member of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Board of Directors and Council, and as a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and the Board of Directors of SICANA, Inc. (ICC North America). Ms. Kalicki is a member of the Global Advisory Board of the New York International Arbitration Center (NYIAC) and of the International Arbitration Club of New York (IACNY) and the London International Arbitration Club. Ms. Reed has served as Chair, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in investor-State and complex commercial cases under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), American Arbitration Association (AAA) and International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration (KLRCA, now AIAC), as well as under the Rules of the UNCITRAL and in ad hoc cases. Ms. Reed served as counsel in international arbitrations for more than 40 years, prior to her 2016 transition to academic and independent arbitrator work. A select list of major cases as counsel in investor-State arbitration and international commercial arbitration appears below. Ms. Reed was full Professor of Practice at the National University of Singapore from July 2016 through December 2019, and a Visiting Professor in Spring 2022. In 2022, she was named the inaugural Bredin Prat Distinguished Visiting Scholar in Arbitration at the Sciences Po Law School. She has been a guest lecturer, primarily on investment treaty arbitration and conciliation of State-level disputes, at the University of Pretoria, the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, Yale Law School, Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, New York University Law School, and the University of Virginia Law School. From 2010-2012, Ms. Reed was an Adjunct Professor of Investment Treaty Arbitration at the University of Miami School of Law, and from 1985-1987, she was an Adjunct Professor at the Washington School of Law of the American University in Washington D. Ms. Reed is President of SIAC and the immediate past President of ICCA. She is a Member of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations and a Member of the New York Arbitration Club. She is a Board Member of the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation Against Ukraine (RD4U). She also serves on the Council of the Australian Centre for international Commercial Arbitration (ACICA), the Advisory Board of the Boston International Arbitration Council (BIAC), and the Advisory Board of the Seoul International Dispute Resolution Centre. She formerly served as President of the American Society of International Law, Chair of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA), a Vice President of the ICC Court, and a member of the LCIA Court, the ICC Governing Body, the HKIAC Board of Directors and the Investment Treaty Forum. Ms. Reed is an editor of the Oxford International Arbitration Series, and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of International Arbitration and the ICSID Review.

Michael Nolan

Mr. Nolan joined Milbank's New York office as an associate in 1996 with the goal of leveraging the firm's leading project finance practice as a platform to develop a premier international arbitration practice. During his years at Milbank, in addition to their primary work handling disputes, Mr. Nolan and his teams worked closely with project finance colleagues and the aviation, space and telecommunications practice groups on structuring transactions, especially aspects involving dispute resolution, governing law, the availability of treaty coverage, and protection against political and other non-commercial risks. At Milbank, Mr. Nolan also gained significant experience with intellectual property, particularly licensing, as well as the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, non-U.S. anti-bribery laws, and sanctions programs.
