Alex Andrianopoulos

Alex leads the team of investment analysts at Kairos that conducts research and due diligence on all the companies we consider to invest in, either through incubation or Series-A funds. Alex joined Kairos with 20+ years of experience at high-tech companies specializing in enterprise software, ranging in size from startups with a handful of employees to behemoths with tens of thousands of employees. In these companies, Alex led global teams of dozens of employees responsible for product strategy, intellectual property protection, engineering, professional services, sales, marketing, and business development, and actively participated in the efforts to close, and successfully closed, multiple rounds of financing by venture capital firms as well as the public markets. Moreover, while at Oracle, Alex led the research and strategic alignment efforts for numerous acquisitions ranging in value from a few tens of millions to billions of dollars. Alex has a degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Computer Engineering and an MBA in Finance and Marketing.

David Park

David Park is a successful serial entrepreneur, investor, board member, and advisor that currently serves as (Regional) Managing Partner at Kairos Ventures and an advisory board member to several tech startups that have been acquired. In this role, David leads the fund's Executive-in-Residence (EIR) and supports the investment team, concentrating on pioneering investments and strategic initiatives in key sectors such as Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biotechnology, and AI/Software/Compute. With a wealth of expertise in fostering scientific innovation, David's influence spans a broad spectrum of disciplines, including materials science, energy, advanced communications, catalysis, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and medical technologies. Additionally, David provides strategic guidance and deep insights in steering the investment team at Kairos Ventures, collaborating closely with the CEO/Founding Partner. He plays an instrumental role in cultivating the fund's relationships with academic partners, facilitating valuable connections between portfolio companies and Fortune 500 partners to drive growth and opportunity. Furthermore, David is involved in shaping capital allocation strategies for select portfolio companies, ensuring their development is in line with the fund's ambitious goals for innovation and market leadership. Beyond his leadership at Kairos Ventures, David is actively involved in the governance and strategic advising of numerous portfolio companies, contributing significantly to their strategic direction and operational achievements. His active engagement as a Limited Partner in multiple venture funds and as an investor in early-stage startups underscores his dedication to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. David is a former advisory member to early-stage startups from UCLA & USC Ventures. He is a proud UCLA alumni, an active supporter of K12 education initiatives, a philanthropist focused on technology and conservation, founder of The Innovation Foundation, a member of Forbes Leadership Council, and an honorary member of Variety Magazine's Top 100 Young Entrepreneurs of Silicon Beach.

Ran Wasserstein Perella's west coast VC/LBO office Palo Alto. Built several tech companies from prototype stage to high-value exit (M&A/IPO). Raised $250M VC/PE financing for portfolio companies. Completed M&A deals exceeding $2B in value. Was Managing Director of Technology Commercialization at IBM World HQ and led a team that launched IBM spinouts from Watson Research Lab. Began his career designing inertial guidance systems for strategic ICBM missiles at Draper Lab and MIT Aero/Astro Dept. Jim Demetriades - CEO, Founder

Jim Demetriades is the Founder & CEO of Kairos Ventures, a venture capital firm that partners with universities to identify the world's leading scientific discoveries and commercialize them. Kairos, which Jim founded in 2015, is currently invested in more than 50 portfolio companies that are producing groundbreaking technologies with the potential to disrupt the industries in which they operate. Jim's fervent belief is that the discoveries Kairos is bringing to life will not only improve lives, but also, ultimately, help restore a sense of hope. Prior to founding Kairos, Jim founded SeeBeyond Technology Corp. in 1989 which he built into the world's largest organically grown and self-funded integration software company whose technologies were used by thousands of global customers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to large hospitals and healthcare systems. Under Jim's leadership, SeeBeyond grew to over 1,600 employees with offices in 35 countries. After taking SeeBeyond public, the company was acquired in an all-cash transaction by Sun Microsystems (now part of Oracle) in 2005 for almost $400 million. Jim also founded real estate development and management company, Multiversal, and his own unique children's internet education media company, Inspero.net. He is currently on the boards of numerous technology companies across a variety of industries and is a Board Member of the Jane Goodall Legacy Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with a second major in computer science and minors in marketing and mathematics from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles.

Josh Palmer

Dr. Palmer began his career in the startup world as Head of R&D at a JPL biotech company called Verrix, a spin-out from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California. He holds a Chemistry PhD from Caltech and spent 3 years as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University. His academic publications have been cited nearly 1,000 times, and he holds several issued US patents. At Kairos Ventures, Dr. Palmer is responsible for leading the Physical Sciences Investment Team in sourcing and due diligence of opportunities across the sciences, broadly defined to include innovations in materials, energy, communications, catalysis, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and medical devices. In addition, he has operational responsibilities for and sits on the Board of Directors of a number of portfolio companies. Dr. Palmer also manages the relationships with several of Kairos Ventures' university partners.

Todd is an accomplished operating executive and entrepreneur, having served as Citigroup CFO for 5 years and as CEO of Citigroup's $10 Billion Global Wealth Management division for 2.5 years. Todd is a leading practitioner on M&A and business strategy, having led the acquisition and strategy efforts for Citigroup and GE Capital, as well as serving as advisor to Fortune 500 firms while at Bain & Co., Booz Allen Hamilton, and Barents Group. He has extensive investing experience as CEO of Citigroup Alternative investments, Chairman of the Citi Pension investment Committee, Chairman of the Dynasty Investment Committee, and a member of the Investment Committees for the Davidson College and World Resources Institute endowments. Just prior to joining Kairos, Todd has been Co-Founder and Chairman of Dynasty Financial Partners, the leading investment and technology platform for sophisticated independent advisors. Founded by Todd and his colleagues in 2010, Dynasty serves nearly 50 RIA firms nationally, with $50 billion under management. In addition to serving as Chairman, Todd has served in several operating roles since the firm's founding, including Chairing the Investment Committee, serving as CIO, and designing and leading Dynasty Capital Strategies. Todd received his MBA with Distinction from the Wharton School of Business and his BA in Economics from Davidson College.
