Andrew Shepherd

Andrew is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and Deputy Head of Manchester Wealth Management and is responsible for the management of trust, corporate and private client assets. Andrew chairs the Group's Collectives Committee and is a key member of the Asset Allocation and Portfolio Construction Committees. After attending Hayward High School in Bolton, Andrew studied and attained a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Sheffield and was awarded the Clayton Prize for Economics on graduation. Andrew began his career in 1998 as a Portfolio Manager with Capel Cure Myers, which later became part of Barclays Wealth. Andrew subsequently joined WH Ireland Limited as Associate Director in 2008.

Brinley Knoyle

After starting his career at Lyddon & Co in 1981 working with administrative and client-facing departments, Brinley became a Portfolio Manager in 1986. In 1991 Brinley joined Henderson Crosthwaite as a Portfolio Manager, subsequently being appointed a Divisional Director and joined WH Ireland in 2002 where he manages portfolios for Individuals, Trustees, Pension Funds and Charities. Brinley is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment ( FCSI).

Carrie Song

With over two years of financial audit experience after graduating from Newcastle University in 2020, Carrie joined WH Ireland as a research analyst in the CIO team. In this role, she supports research in global asset markets and contributes to the processes of Asset Allocation and investment vehicle selection. Currently, she is a CFA Level 3 candidate.

Craig Allison

Craig is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments and joined WH Ireland in 2012 as an Investment Manager and Head of the Poole office. Originally, from South Yorkshire, Craig began his career with Charles Stanley in London over 20 years ago, before relocating to Dorset in 2010. Craig and the team in Poole manage discretionary funds on behalf of a number of high net worth individuals, families, trusts, and charities across the UK and overseas, together with private client discretionary portfolios on behalf of professional intermediaries. He lives with his young family in Poole and is active in a wide range of local community organisations.

Danielle Tetteh

Dexter Eaves

Dexter leads our Execution-Only desk and is the main point of contact for clients utilising our brokerage service. He has over 7 years' experience in the financial services industry, starting out in the big banking sector and joining WH Ireland at the beginning of 2020. After attending Kirkham Grammar School in Lancashire, Dexter studied at University in Manchester, attaining a BA (Hons) in Business Finance. Dexter prides himself on working to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients', and offers a broad and in-depth knowledge of the industry. Dexter holds a Level 4 qualification in Investment Management.

Ekaterina Doubinina

Ekaterina is an investment and risk professional with 17 years' experience gained within 3 major banks in the UK and Switzerland. She has an extensive practical knowledge and expertise of HNW & UHNW private client portfolio management for individuals, companies & trusts. In her latest role at UBS, Ekaterina was leading the Competence and Supervision controls for UBS Business Risk Office in London covering over 300 regulated staff across the UK. She is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI, a Chartered Manager of CMI and holds a Diploma in Investment Compliance. Ekaterina joined WH Ireland in April 2022.

Fraser Marshall

Fraser has had a 26-year career in the UK equity markets, working in sales and corporate broking. His focus has always been on advising and raising funds for UK companies. He started his career with Kleinwort Benson in 1994 before joining Evolution Securities in 2002, at its inception, managing the Equity Sales desk. In 2008, Fraser joined Collins Stewart to run the small-cap franchise and then joined The Royal Bank of Canada in 2009 as part of the rollout of its European Equities platform. Subsequently, Fraser joined Arden Partners in 2017, as Head of Equities and a member of its Senior Management team.

Garry Stran

Garry is a financial services professional having had a variety of roles in listed, owner managed, state and private equity controlled businesses. He has extensive experience across financial services with a focus on credit risk management, operation transformation and M&A. Garry was with Nationwide Building Society from 1992 to 2004 as a senior executive and a member of Retail Credit Committee. Since then he has worked extensively in private equity as both a founder, CEO, NED and Chairman. From 2014 to 2019, Garry was a non-executive director of Computershare Loan Services Ltd, which included chairing the Audit and Compliance Committee for part of that time. In 2020, he joined PCF Bank from a leading fintech lender where he played a key role in supporting their rapid growth plans. Garry is a Member of the Institute of Credit Management (MICM) and holds the Finance and Leasing Diploma.

Ian has over 25 years' fund management experience with globally renowned institutions. He has been involved in global asset allocation since 1994 and in the four years to January 2008 was Head of Fund of Funds at Invesco Perpetual, where he was responsible for global asset allocation on over £1.8 billion of assets. Under his stewardship, the Invesco Perpetual World Growth and World Income Funds were both "AA" rated by independent ratings agency Standard & Poor's. During both 2006 and 2007, Ian was voted one of the most consistent fund managers in the Investment Week/Standard & Poor's Fund of Funds sector. Ian left Invesco Perpetual in January 2008 to co-found Harpsden Wealth Management with Jeremy Arthur. In 2012 and 2013 Ian won a prestigious Gold Standard Award for Discretionary Portfolio Management.

Kevin Smith

Kevin began his career in South Africa after the completion of his undergraduate and postgraduate finance degrees, where he spent a few years at a major bank. He has a passion for providing the highest level of service to clients as well as a strong interest in financial markets and portfolio management, having gained vast experience in this respect during his career. Kevin is part of the Wealth Management Team at WH Ireland, and is based in the London office. Michael brings significant experience of building and running substantial wealth management businesses, having previously been a senior member of UBS's wealth management business for over 20 years. He started his wealth management career as a founding employee of UBS's UK domestic wealth management business in 2000; having grown UBS's business in the UK, he spent two years in Switzerland integrating the teams covering origination, investment and client relationships across the UK business. He then developed an Institutional Family Office business whilst being responsible for UBS's Ultra High Net Worth teams across Northern Europe. Michael joined WH Ireland as Head of Wealth Management in January 2022.

Phillip Wale - CEO

Phillip began his career in UK Gilt Edged & convertible bonds, spending ten years at Goldman Sachs in New York and then London, as co-head of pan-European equities. He managed the equity businesses at Commerzbank and then at Knight Securities, where he was appointed European CEO. In 2004 he moved into fund management as CIO of a multi-strategy hedge fund, returning to the sell-side in 2007 with Collins Stewart working closely with the expansion of the wealth management product. Phillip joined Seymour Pierce, the corporate & institutional broker and wealth manager, in 2010 and was appointed its Chief Executive Officer in 2011. Between 2012 and 2016 he was Chief Executive Officer of Panmure Gordon & Co. Prior to joining WHIreland in August 2018, Phillip was Head of Fixed Income (Europe) at Cantor Fitzgerald Europe.

Prior to joining WH Ireland, Pratishtha graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a master's degree in International Political Economy. She also holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and English Literature from the University of Delhi, where she specialised in Economics of Labour Migration. Pratishtha is fluent in English, Hindi, Sanskrit, and conversational French, and holds a Level 4 qualification in Investment Management.

Shalu holds qualifications to level 6 and holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and the Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice and Management. Shalu prides herself in developing a full understanding of clients' circumstances, aspirations and preferences and advises from a holistic point of view. Simon Jackson - CFO

Simon was Finance Director of Saunderson House Limited from January 2019 until March 2021, prior to its acquisition by Rathbone Brothers Plc, having previously been Group Finance Director of Brooks Macdonald Group plc from November 2000 to April 2018. In both roles he helped implement both organic and inorganic growth strategies whilst building finance capabilities that are essential to meet the increasing requirements of a growing, regulated business in public markets. Simon's time at Brooks Macdonald included its admission to trading on AIM in 2005; between 2005 and 2017, Brooks Macdonald grew its funds under management from £371m to £11.7bn. Simon qualified as a chartered accountant with Macintyre Hudson, and spent 10 years with Rutland Trust plc, in a variety of senior finance roles, prior to joining Brooks Macdonald.

Simon Moore

Simon has over thirty years' experience of the banking industry, primarily with Chase Manhattan Bank, in London and New York, and Barclays between 2004 and 2011 where he was the regional director for the corporate banking activities in Wales and the South West of England. He is currently chairman of LV Financial Services, the UK life insurance mutual. He is also chairman of RCI Bank UK, the UK arm of the French bank RCI Groupe, part of the Renault Group. Simon was a director of Cambridge and Counties Bank from its foundation in 2012 and chairman from 2015, retiring in 2022. From 2013 to 2016, he served as the International Director of the Confederation of British Industry. Simon was a director, and latterly chairman of Pennant International Group PLC between 2015 and 2021. Outside banking and industry, Simon has served as a governor of the University of the West of England and is now a trustee of the Wallscourt Foundation, which acts to promote the student experience and teaching objectives of the university. In addition, Simon is a lay member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Recruitment and Employers Confederation and a former non-executive director of the Government Office of the South West.

Stephen Balonwu

Stephen has a unique mix of knowledge and experience. Trained and practiced as a barrister and then moving into corporate law at a major International City law firm, Dentons, and Head of Legal private bank and wealth management in global banks such as Citibank and Standard Chartered, which has enabled him to develop technical and leadership skills for transforming legal and compliance functions. Stephen has a mix of both Wealth Management and Capital Markets Compliance experience, by virtue of his time at Deutsche Bank. His compliance role at EFG had significant WM overlap with WHI's WM business as has their ownership of the EFG Harris Allday. As Head of Regulatory Compliance at EFG, he had insight across the Compliance functions and good insight of EFG Operational and Regulatory Risks.

Stephen Johnston

Steve has over 35 years' experience in the financial services industry with more than 25 years working as an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). He initially worked with Lloyds Bank and Standard Life. In 1996 he joined his father's IFA business, Keith Johnston & Partners Ltd, and over the years he helped build this into an extremely successful practice with a first-class reputation. In 2015 Keith Johnston & Partners Ltd was sold to Harpsden Wealth Management Ltd which was subsequently acquired by WH Ireland in 2020. In 2005, Steve was in the first ever group of individuals to be awarded Chartered Financial Planner status and he remains a committed advocate of raising professional standards throughout the industry. Steve enjoys all aspects of financial planning particularly building long term relationships with his clients and helping them and their families meet all their financial objectives by utilising his experience and expertise.

Tom Ritson

Tom joined WH Ireland as a Graduate Trainee in Wealth Management in 2022; he holds the level 4 qualification in Investment Management and is now a working towards his CFA qualifications as a Trainee Research Analyst in the CIO team. After attending Oundle School in Peterborough, Tom studied at the University of Newcastle, attaining a 2.1 Ba (Hons) in History specialising in Modern History. Tom has previous experience working with Investment Managers at Charles Stanley which helped develop his understanding of the industry. Prior to that, he has worked as a labourer in construction and within the Hospitality sector. Tom is a keen fan of Northampton Saints rugby team and enjoys playing sport in his free time.
