Clarence Jordan

Clarence Jordan is Vice President of Wellness & Recovery for Beacon Health Options. In this role, he provides strategic direction and leadership for the company's national Wellness & Recovery program. He is responsible for various initiatives to operationalize Beacon Health Options' commitment to recovery-based principles in the delivery of behavioral health services. Jordan is a former naval officer, and his recovery journey is chronicled in National Council Magazine's "50 Years, 50 Stories of Recovery" special issue to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Community Mental Health Act.

David K. White - CEO

With more than two decades of health care administration experience in psychiatric care and substance abuse treatment, physical rehabilitation, long term care and acute hospital services, Dr. David White joined MedMark as President and CEO in January of 2008, growing the company from 3 clinics in California to over 254 locations in the US and Canada. BayMark is now largest opioid treatment company in North America offering a continuum of outpatient treatment services, outpatient detox and recovery services, and inpatient withdrawal management services. Prior to joining the company, he served as President, Hospital Management Services for Nashville-based Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. Prior to that, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Horizon Health Corporation, managing over 180 hospital locations and overseeing rapid expansion and acquisition strategies, resulting in the acquisition of 15 hospitals until the company merged with Psychiatric Solutions in 2007. Prior to Horizon, Dr. White was the CEO of Charles River Health Management, a psychiatric contract management company in Boston and at Charles River Hospital, a specialty psychiatric and substance abuse hospital also in Massachusetts. He received a bachelor's degree in science from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and obtained master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

Dr. Jeanne Miranda

Dr. Jeanne Miranda is Assistant Director of the Center and a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences. She is a mental health services researcher who has focused her work on providing mental health care to low-income and minority communities. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from University of Kansas and completed post-doctoral training at University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Miranda's major research contributions have been in evaluating the impact of mental health care for ethnic minority communities. She conducted a trial of treatment of depression in impoverished minority patients at San Francisco General Hospital. Traditional care for depression was contrasted with traditional care supplemented by case management. Case management offered additional benefits for Latino patients but were not beneficial for African American and white participants. Her most recent NIMH-funded trial is a study of care for depression in low-income, minority women screened through county entitlement programs. She is an investigator in two UCLA centers focusing on improving disparities in health care for ethnic minorities. She directs community cores and an innovative research core focusing on translating lifestyle interventions (diet and exercise) for low-income and minority communities. She was the Senior Scientific Editor of "Mental Health: Culture, Race and Ethnicity, A Supplement to Mental Health: A Report of the Surgeon General," published August 2001. She became a member of the Institute of Medicine in 2005. Dr. Miranda is the 2008 recipient of the Emily Mumford Award for Contributions to Social Medicine from Columbia University. She is currently working with two community partners, TIES for Families and the Center for Adoption Support and Education to developed evidence-based care for families adopting older children from foster care.

Gavin Scruggs

Gavin Scruggs is Senior Vice President, Development of BayMark and joined the company in August 2016. He has over 25 years of experience in various health care settings in the field of Mergers & Acquisitions, Development, Finance, and Population Health Management. Gavin has extensive experience working in both public and private equity backed organizations including Concentra, Humana, Horizon Health Corporation, Fresenius Vascular, Solis Women's Health, HCA, and the Baylor Health Care System. Gavin received his MBA from Baylor University and completed his undergraduate degree in Finance at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Gilbert D'Andria - CFO

Gilbert D'Andria joined BayMark in September 2020 as the Chief Financial Officer. He has over 20 years of finance, healthcare and private equity experience. Prior to joining BayMark, he was the CFO of Smile Doctors, a multi-site orthodontic company. Before that he was CFO of Maxor National Pharmacy Services. His healthcare experience started with MedAssets from 2004 to 2013 during which he helped them through an initial public offering. Gilbert successfully managed all aspects of finance and accounting functions with significant emphasis on financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, audit, mergers and acquisitions, fund raising, investor relations, strategic planning, measuring operational key performance indicators, corporate development, IPO and integration of acquired companies. Gilbert received his MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School and completed his undergraduate and master's degrees at Georgia Tech.

Jason Carmichael

Jason Carmichael has over 25 years of health care experience in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment, in both inpatient and outpatient service settings. He also brings to his role extensive leadership experience from community and mental health counseling. Jason joined the MedMark team in 2013 and has served as a Regional Compliance Manger and the Director of Clinical Services. Prior to joining MedMark he worked as Director of Clinical and Outpatient Services for Behavioral Centers of America and Director at Allegiance Specialty Hospital. He received his Bachelor's degree in Arts from Wayland Baptist University and obtained a Master's in Education from Wayland Baptist University. He also attended the University of Texas of the Permian Basin where he became a licensed professional counselor.

Jerry Rhodes - Chairman

Jerry most recently was the CEO of CRC Health, one of the nation's largest providers of Behavioral Healthcare. CRC was a Bain Capital sponsored company and was recently sold to Acadia Healthcare for $1.3B. This deal was constituted one of the largest ever in behavioral healthcare. Jerry joined CRC Health Group in 2003 and was instrumental in developing it into the nation's largest provider of behavioral treatment services, with over 100 facilities nationwide and nearly $500m in revenue. CRC operated a broad array of programs across the behavioral healthcare spectrum, from acute psychiatric hospitals to outpatient programs in 32 states. Jerry held a number of senior operating roles at CRC and was appointed COO in 2010. Prior to joining CRC, he was the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Comprehensive Addictions Programs Inc. (CAPs). CAPs was a privately held company backed by several venture capital investors that, under Rhodes' leadership, became a national, full-service addiction treatment provider of both residential and opiate treatment. The company was acquired by CRC in February 2003. Before founding CAPS, Jerry had a number of roles focused on development in the long-term care field. Rhodes was the Director of Development for Beverly Enterprises, the nation's largest publicly held nursing home company. Prior to his position at Beverly, he held several business development roles at Manor Care Inc. He is currently the Chairman of Baymark Healthcare and is also on the Board of Directors of Springstone Hospitals, Dental Care Alliance, and recently, the board of National Spine. He is a former Board member of the National Association of Psychiatric Health Systems. He is also the recipient of the prestigious Nyswander Dole (Dr. Marie) award for his work in medication-assisted treatment from the American Association of Opiate Treatment Programs.

Michael Saul - COO

Mike Saul has served more than 30 years as an advocate, consultant, and senior executive in the psychiatric and substance abuse field. He currently oversees the OBOT, Residential, and Ambulatory Withdrawal Management business units at BayMark. He also oversees the Company's Payer Relations efforts and Call Center. Prior to joining BayMark in 2018, Mike served as the President of Cornerstone Behavioral Health in Dallas, Texas. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Psychiatric Resource Partners, a subsidiary of Acadia Healthcare out of Nashville, Tennessee. He also spent 18 years in a number of senior executive positions at Horizon Health Corporation including Regional Vice President Operations, President Contract Management Services and served as its President and CEO from 2008 to 2011. Mike received clinical training and a Master of Science Degree in Counseling from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from Webster University.

Pamela Hyde

Ms. Hyde is the former Administrator of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She was nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in November 2009 as Administrator of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), a public health agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The agency's mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America's communities. Ms. Hyde is an attorney and comes to SAMHSA with more than 35 years' experience in management and consulting for public health care and human services agencies. She has served as a state mental health director, state human services director, city housing and human services director, as well as CEO of a private, nonprofit managed behavioral health care firm. In 2003 Ms. Hyde was appointed cabinet secretary of the New Mexico Human Services Department by Governor Bill Richardson, where she worked effectively to provide greater access to quality health services for everyone. Ms. Hyde is a member of or has served as a consultant to many national organizations, including the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the ACMHA: The College for Behavioral Health Leadership, the President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health, and the U.S. Department of Justice. She has been recognized by many groups, including the American Medical Association, the National Governors Association, and the Seattle Management Association for her creativity and leadership in policy and program development and organizational management issues. Ms. Hyde has received special acknowledgment for her ability to build teams, develop coalitions and consensus, develop strategic plans, and form the basis for action and achieve identified goals in a constantly changing environment. She received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School (1976) and her B.A. from Southwest Missouri State University (1972).

Peter Coleman

Dr. Coleman is the Founder of the Coleman Institute for Addiction Medicine. He grew up in New Zealand and attended medical school there before moving to the US in 1980 to complete his Family Practice residency in Chapel Hill, NC. Dr. Coleman moved to Richmond in 1988. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of addiction medicine, as well as family practice medicine. Outside of the office, he enjoys Stand Up Paddle boarding, surfing and mountain climbing.

Philip Isherwood

Philip Isherwood, M.D., is the National Medical Director for OBOT Services. He cofounded AppleGate Recovery and has been an integral part of their treatment programs since 2008. Dr. Isherwood has been treating opioid addiction since 2004. He supervises provider teams at the OBOT programs to ensure that patients receive professional, compassionate and respectful care. Dr. Isherwood graduated medical school from the University of Illinois and was an Associate Professor of Clinical Family Medicine at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport. He has also served as an Emergency Medicine Physician. He is the Medical Director for an opiate treatment facility in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. He is retired from the United States Army as a Colonel, and served four deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Robin A. Johnson

Robin Johnson joined MedMark Services as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development in July 2009 and now serves BayMark Health Services as Senior Vice President of the department. Robin has over 25 years of marketing, business development and operations experience in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment in inpatient, residential and outpatient levels of care. Prior to joining MedMark, now the BayMark Health Services organization, Robin was National Director of Business Development for Devereux. She previously served as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Horizon Health Services and Regional Director of Business Development for Charter Behavioral Health Services.

Sam Donaldson

Sam Donaldson, Ph.D., is the former President and Chief Executive Officer at Cenpatico. Sam Donaldson is a Clinical Psychologist. He joined Cenpatico in September 2004 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Cenpatico's expertise lies in managing benefits for vulnerable populations. During Sam's tenure, Cenpatico's membership increased from 800,000 to over 2 million members across 17 states. Sam is a leader in the development of innovative clinical models for treatment of Medicaid and other public sector members. Prior to Cenpatico, Sam worked for Magellan Health Services in Pittsburgh as General Manager of their Western Pennsylvania Care Management Center, in which he was responsible for managing a behavioral health management contract covering 2.9 million lives. Before his entry into the managed care system in 1999, Sam worked as a clinician in all levels of care for both substance abuse treatment and mental health. In 1996, Sam was a founder and managing partner of Western Pennsylvania's largest multi-specialty practice, Vista Behavioral Health Associates, Inc. Sam has a total of 31 years of behavioral health and substance abuse treatment experience. Sam received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Sam is a licensed Psychologist in Pennsylvania and a member of the American Psychological Association. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the largest managed care behavioral health trade association, the Association for Behavioral Health and Wellness, and served as the Association's Chair in 2010. Sam is an adjunct professor of Psychology at Austin Community College and serves as a healthcare consultant in the Austin, Texas area.

Sheldon D. Glass

Sheldon D. Glass, M.Ed., M.D., was appointed National Medical Director for MedMark Treatment Centers on December 1, 2011 and oversees the medical quality program for all opioid treatment programs and other addiction services within BayMark Health Services. Dr. Glass developed the Glass Health Programs in 1970 to provide opioid addiction treatment services to individuals within the Greater Baltimore area. Dr. Glass has been board certified in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, Adolescent Psychiatry and Pediatrics. Since 1968, he has been on the staff of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Glass is also a founding and current member of the National Advisory Council of the Johns Hopkins School of Education. He is on the Board of Directors of Friends Research Institute and sits on the governing council for the American Society of Adolescent Psychiatry.
