rian R. Symington is a partner in the office of Parker, Grossart & Bahensky, L.L.P. He practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, business law, residential and commercial real estate and federal and state taxation. Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate in a large, Washington, D.C.-based law firm, focusing his practice on federal tax controversy and international taxation issues. Prior to law school, Mr. Symington served as senior aide to a United States Senator and as an intern at a U.S. Embassy. Mr. Symington regularly advises clients on business formation issues, including the tax and liability consequences of entity choice. His experience includes the administration of trust and estate proceedings of all sizes, each of which present unique issues. Mr. Symington's experience in federal tax law includes managing controversies both for individuals and Fortune 500 companies at various administrative levels. Additionally, Mr. Symington has devoted numerous pro bono hours to homeless and non-profit clients. Mr. Symington was born and raised in McCook, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2002, and attended graduate and law school at American University, where he was a member of the law review and graduated with honors.
