I have been hunting for over 25 years over a variety of different dog breeds and have found that the drahthaar has exceeded all of my expectations...
They can hunt waterfowl in the morning and upland birds the rest of the day. They can swim and run as well as any breed but where I feel they excel is after the shot. If you have a duck in thick cover or a pheasant in heavy brush they will not give up and will continue to track until they find it.
