DR. JONATHAN FLAX

There's a reason people keep coming to Jonathan Flax, DMD. That's because there is great satisfaction in going to a dentist you know and trust. Dr. Flax has been practicing for over 25 years. His care and concern for patients has brightened thousands of smiles. Highly-committed to mastery in the latest in dental techniques and innovations, Dr. Flax has continued to pursue the education he began many years ago at George Washington University where he majored in Psychology. He went on to extend his education, receiving his doctorate from Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Flax is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, and is licensed in New York State. Dr. Flax grew up in New Jersey and moved to New York in 1994. He and his wife, Debbie, have three sons. Outside the office, he enjoys fishing, soccer and travel in his free time.

DR. MARYAM AKBARI

Dr. Akbari is a full-time oral and maxillofacial surgeon here at Queens Village Dental Associates. She attended University of Pennsylvania where she earned her DMD and MPH degrees (2014). She obtained her MD degree from Louisiana State University of Shreveport in 2018. She completed her oral and maxillofacial training at Mount Sinai Hospital in NY. Dr. Akbari enjoys teaching residents and practicing wide scope Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with a focus on trauma and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Akbari spends her free time running, biking and spending quality time with her friends and family.

DR. TAYLOR WANG

Dr. Yu (Taylor) Wang is a board-certified periodontist and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She has published peer-reviewed articles on basic science and clinical research and has served as a journal reviewer. She received extensive training in general dentistry and earned a Master of Science Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in her native Taiwan. She completed a residency in Periodontology at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, where she also earned a Master of Science degree. Dr. Wang specializes in periodontal surgeries, such as pocket reduction, laser periodontal treatment (LANAP certified), esthetic and functional crown lengthening, regenerative procedures, soft tissue grafting, and dental implant therapies. She currently practices periodontics in the New York area.
