Alex Cathcart

Alex graduated with a Bachelors of Health Science degree with a Specialization in Kinesiology at UOIT in 2021. This is where Alex learned the importance of taking care of the body. She is one of the friendly faces at our front desk throughout the week. When Alex is not in the office, she enjoys the outdoors, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Andrew Siu

Andrew is passionate about providing exceptional physiotherapy and helping clients achieve their functional/health goals through an individualized care plan. Regardless of the injury, pain, or ailment, Andrew will do all he can to find the cause and provide high quality, evidence-based treatments, so you can live your best life. Andrew graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelors of Medical Sciences with honours in 2018. There, he competed on the Varsity Swimming team at a national level and developed his love for Physiotherapy while volunteering at various clinics, hospitals, and care facilities. After that, Andrew graduated from the Physiotherapy program at Queen's University, honing his skills in assessment, analysis, and treatment, of a wide array of conditions. His approach to therapy includes identifying the sources and employing various treatment techniques to address the condition. He also firmly believes that client education, lifestyle changes, and exercise, are crucial for the improvement of conditions, and prevention. Andrew understands the importance of maintaining one's health and physical well-being. No matter what your story is, Andrew is ready to help you towards your health goals. Outside of the clinic, Andrew loves rock climbing, athletics, and baking in his spare time.

Bryan Streich

Bryan studied Kinesiology at Brock University, and graduated in 2014. While there, he worked as a student therapist with the Varsity Wrestling team, where he developed his passion for rehabilitating injuries through a combination of hands on and exercise therapy. After graduating, Bryan went on to study Physiotherapy at University of Toronto where he further developed his assessment and treatment skills to cover a wide variety of neurological and musculoskeletal, as well as cardiovascular conditions. While there, Bryan also became certified as a strength and conditioning specialist and began working as a personal trainer using his knowledge to create exercise based programs to help people achieve their functional goals. Bryan graduated the Physiotherapy Program in 2017. From these experiences, Bryan is able to create a unique blend of modalities, manual therapy and exercise that is tailored to not only the injuries but also to the functional goals of his clients. When Bryan is not in the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and son, as well as keeping active in the gym.

Carrie Zhou

Carrie brings lots of knowledge and experience form when she used to teach massage therapy back in China. When she moved to Canada she got licensed as a Registered Massage Therapist in 2018. Carrie wanted to become a massage therapist after reading a book and becoming inspired about the structure of the human body. Carrie utilizes a variety of techniques into her treatments such as the holding method, point method, reflex method, cupping and acupoint tunia. Carries techniques used in treatment have been known to help relieve muscle tension, migraines, frozen shoulder, sciatica, prenatal muscle aches and many others. Carrie enjoys learning new knowledge and discussing various treatment methods with her patients. Carrie is very grateful for the therapists and patients who have accompanied her along her massage journey. When Carrie is not in the clinic, she enjoys ice fishing, being out in the nature and travelling with her family.

Dr. Christine Mikhael

Dr. Christine graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Kinesiology. While working as a Kinesiologist she discovered the value of chiropractic when she sustained an upper back injury, and decided to pursue the journey of Chiropractic care. In June 2015, she graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College as a Doctor of Chiropractic. After touring Europe she joined the Knots ‘n' Joints team in October 2015. Dr. Christine is equipped with the skills to assess, evaluate and treat all ages. Dr. Christine completed the prestigious Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University in October 2015 and is licensed in the administration of Acupuncture Therapy. Dr. Christine is also trained and certified in the operation of the highly innovative Bioflex Laser Therapy. Dr. Christine is eager to help you on your way to a healthy and happier well-being. When Dr. Christine is not in clinic, enjoys hiking, travelling and trying new restaurants.

Dr. Steven Mahaise

Dr. Mahaise has a passion for guiding his patients toward a pain-free, healthy and active lifestyle. He does so through evidence-based treatment practices that utilizes up to date scientific research, patient values and clinical experience. This has led him to acquire certifications in instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, contemporary medical acupuncture, functional movement training and mental health first aid. Dr. Mahaise enjoys treating a vast number of musculoskeletal conditions related to the neck, back, shoulders, and many more. Whether the goal is to return to work, return to sport, or just move without pain, he works with patients to determine the right treatment plan so they can get back to doing what matters to them the most. Dr. Mahaise graduated with highest distinction from the University of Ontario of Technology with an honours degree in Kinesiology. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Throughout his career, he has helped many patients find relief from their pain. He is ready to assist you in your recovery process.

Elissa Darling

Elissa graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College with a diploma in massage therapy in 2011. She became a Massage therapist because of her passion for helping others, science, and athletics. Elissa has expanded her skills by certifying in pediatric massage, pediatric oncology massage, cupping therapy, dynamic taping, and training through Kerry's Place autism services. In her spare time she also teaches infant massage with the Mommy Connections group. Elissa has a background of knowledge from working alongside other practitioners at a rehabilitation sports clinic which provided her tools to help heal the body and aide pain with her patients. After meeting and studying with the founder of the Liddle Kidz Foundation (Tina Allen), Elissa centralized her focus into the health studies of pediatrics. She also worked as an Ambassador for the Liddle Kidz Foundation in India for a month providing treatment in various settings and cities. Elissa's ability to connect with young patients is incredible; she makes the experience fun and connects to each child's needs and interests. Elissa's treatments are completely child guided and personalized to the needs of the patient. When Elissa is not in the clinic, she enjoys spending time adventuring in nature, primitive camping, and travelling.

Erica Doyon

Erica Doyon went to school at Sir Sandford Fleming College for massage therapy and graduated in 2020. Erica has always had a true passion for health care, and helping people heal. She loves helping people feel better, and allowing them to feel in control of their health and wellness. Erica is certified in Indian head massage, cupping, hot stone massage and TMJ dysfunction. She has a lot of experience with relaxation massage, and enjoys a wide variety of treatments. When Erica is not in the clinic, she enjoys hiking, swimming, biking, and spending time with her two children.

Kyla is a Registered Massage Therapist who has been practicing since 2005 and is a graduate from ICT Kikkawa College. Kyla is dedicated to providing focused quality care and response to the needs and complaints of her clients; she is very passionate and has an interest in on-going education. Kyla has experience treating people with various medical conditions and she has furthered her knowledge by getting certified in cranial sacral therapy, bioflex laser therapy and TMJ dysfunction.

Michael Wing-Xiu Chu

Michael is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Registered Acupuncturist of Ontario. Michael completed his TCM training at the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a school specializing in acupuncture and needle manipulation. Michael's passion with helping people to attain over all health well being has lead him to pursue the career of TCM. His treatment involves taking a holistic approach to relieve the symptoms while treating the root cause. This is done by carefully selecting points and gentle manipulation of the needle. He can also promote better local circulation and local muscle relaxation, which reliefs pain, but at the same time, this can bring the body back to the balance state. Michael can also help with improving on digestion, better sleeping quality, reduce stress, anxiety and strengthen immunity, as well as gynaecological and fertility issues. When necessary, he can also add other modalities such as cupping and tuina(acupressure massage) to further enhance the therapeutic effects. On his free time, Michael enjoys reading, meditation and tai chi as well as playing tennis.

Michelle Morency

Initially it was the idea of pre and post-natal treatments and infant massage that brought Michelle to the career path of massage therapy. Having suffered with hip and low back pain throughout her entire pregnancy, Michelle was set and thought prenatal and infant care were her focus until she was introduced to laser therapy. Her previous sports related injuries were becoming a limitation to Michelle's career choice and she was referred for Bioflex Laser Therapy. Astonished as to how much Laser therapy helped her, she immediately took a course and got certified. Michelle enjoys treating using a variety of modalities including hydrotherapy, massage therapy and laser therapy. Michelle has discovered her passion is helping people reach their therapeutic goals. She has experience in pre and postnatal care, sports injuries, work place injuries and much more. When Michelle is not at the clinic, she loves the outdoors, especially spending time with her family at the trailer.

Yvonne Scott

When Yvonne is not in the office, she enjoys going to the cottage, gardening and spending time with her family.
