Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. Maurer worked as an engineer for a Tier 1 automotive supplier in the field of vehicle safety restraints. Mr. Maurer also worked for an engineering firm where he designed custom engineering test equipment.
Mr. Maurer has assisted clients in relation to a wide variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies. Mr. Maurer has extensive experience in automotive technologies, including axles, four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive systems, propulsion systems, battery and energy consumption technology, turbochargers, vehicle seats, pedal assemblies, windows, and weather seals. In the medical industry, Mr. Maurer has experience in surgical instruments, sterilization, hospital beds and stretchers, and surgical robotics. In addition, Mr. Maurer has assisted clients in technologies relating to 3D printing, building systems, manufacturing, the outdoor industry, firearms, and fashion.
Mr. Maurer is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Maurer has presented to various groups on multiple aspects of intellectual property law. He has spoken at universities and law schools about professional opportunities in intellectual property. He has also mentored numerous law students and new associates in patent preparation and prosecution.

Mr. Basile is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. He is a past officer and board member of the San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Association.
Mr. Roper was most recently in-house counsel at Zoom, helping to build a patent program from the ground up. Prior to Zoom, Mr. Roper was in-house counsel at Microsoft where he managed patent portfolios for Surface, Azure Compute, SQL Server, and incubation products. Mr. Roper has been an inventor on over 10 patent applications.
