Functional Dry

Dry needling is a technique physical therapists use to treat myofascial pain. The technique uses a "dry" needle, one without medication or injection, inserted through the skin into areas of the muscle, known as trigger points.

Shelley Newcom

Shelley Newcom is a 1993 graduate of the University of Evansville where she received an associate degree in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. Shelley brings many years of experience in the hospital, home-health, and outpatient clinic settings. Shelley specializes in manual therapy techniques and is an avid continuing education attendant. Currently she is attending the Functional Orthopedic Manual Treatment Technique series where she has completed five out of seven courses and also is working toward her certification in Visceral Manipulation. Shelley has completed a course in Running Analysis/Rehabilitation. The American Physical Therapy Association has recently recognized Shelley for advanced proficiency in musculoskeletal physical therapy.

Trisha Phelps - President

Trisha Phelps is the President/Owner of Progressive Rehab/Sports Therapy. The company was founded in 1992. Trisha has been a therapist for over 20 years. She graduated from Chicago State University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Trisha is the only OT in the country to be certified in Active Release Technique (ART) in all three categories: upper extremities, lower extremities, and the spine. In addition she specializes in women's health therapy techniques and is currently working on becoming a certified visceral manipulation therapist.
