My journey into instructional design began in a classroom, but it was transformed when I started working with a small e-learning company providing quality assurance. What was meant to be a short-term position quickly evolved as I discovered my passion for creating learning experiences that actually worked... I remember reviewing a particularly dry compliance course that was failing to engage learners. The content was important-potentially life-saving-but the delivery was putting people to sleep. I redesigned the approach with scenario-based learning and realistic interactions. The result? Completion rates doubled, and more importantly, the knowledge was actually being applied on the job... I believe that effective learning doesn't happen by accident. It's meticulously designed with clear goals, a deep understanding of the audience, and creative problem-solving.
