Robert A Winstanley

Robert A Winstanley BDS (Edinburgh) Dentist GDC: 67808 Robert originally comes from Bolton, Lancashire where his father was also a dentist. After graduating from Edinburgh University in 1992 he worked in several Oral Surgery Hospital Departments in Edinburgh, followed by a Senior House Officer position at the Manchester Royal Infirmary, where his interest in dental implants started. Robert has been at the Ruthin Dental Practice now over 18 years and for eight years combined this with a clinical post in the Orthodontic Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. He now provides orthodontic treatment for patients in Ruthin and the surrounding areas. (He has been a Vocational Trainer, which involves mentoring newly qualified dentists over their first year following graduation). He has completed numerous post graduate courses. In 2003 he undertook a year long Dental Implant course under Professor Ucer. This has enabled him to place and restore Dental Implants in the practice in Ruthin for our own patients, and also for patients referred from other dental practices. In 2011, under Dr Paul Tipton, he completed a year long Restorative Dentistry Programme. Robert continues to strive to provide his patients with advanced treatments that modern dentistry has to offer.

Thomas Gregg BDS (Bristol) Dentist GDC: 83449 Tom graduated from Bristol Dental School in 2004 where he was awarded the class prize for Prostodontics (Dentures). A rural life called and he immediately joined Ruthin Dental Practice to complete his community training (VT) year under the guidance of Robert Winstanley. Tom met his now wife, Sarah, at Dental school and they both live together just outside Ruthin with their young family. Tom's interests in cosmetic dentistry and smile improvement led him to further studies at UCLAN post-graduate dental school where was awarded a Diploma in Restorative Cosmetic Dentistry in 2011 after several years of studying and completion of a case book which can be viewed in the Practice. Tom continues to strive to offer patients the best smile they can achieve with the minimum of invasive treatment. He is Post Grad in Orthodontics at University of Warwickshire and can provide a wide range of orthodontic treatment to move teeth into a better position for you. Treatments include traditional fixed braces and invisible aligners. Tom is active in the world of dental politics and is currently Chair/Secretary of the North Wales Section of the British Dental Association (our dentist trade union). He also represents North Wales as Vice-Chair of the Welsh General Dental Practice Committee. Regularly attends the local dental committee and local orthodontic committee.
