Andrea Pettiford - CEO

As CEO of Easterseals Northern California, Andrea focuses on ensuring the organization remains aligned with and carries out its purpose. Partnering with the Easterseals NorCal Board of Directors and the staff, Andrea leads strategic and operational efforts to strengthen and expand the organization's reach. Andrea has spent the bulk of her professional life in mission-driven nonprofit organizations with a focus on operations management and technology. She started her career at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest as a volunteer, working her way up through the organization to oversee operations and service delivery for patients in Central San Diego. In her subsequent role as Product Manager, she was responsible for creation and delivery of electronic health record software used by Planned Parenthood affiliates across the country. Subsequently, Andrea held a leadership role in a healthcare management consulting firm, where she helped clients to develop and implement technology-related strategic plans. Since joining in 2020, she has served as a project manager and the VP of Easterseals Operations, where she led a significant and ongoing effort to build self-sustaining programs that make clinical services better and promote an engaged culture of excellence and inclusion.

Christine Gomez

As the Director of the Early Intervention Program, Christine spends her time growing her team throughout Northern California and coaching the Early Interventionists to provide the highest quality of care to the parents and the clients they serve. She continues to create a lasting relationship with the Regional Center managers and coordinators in order to continue expanding services to more families throughout NorCal's communities. Christine earned her Bachelors in Developmental Psychology at Saint Mary's College of California in 2002. She began her career as a paraprofessional for Solano County Department of Education and continued her work within the field while pursuing her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2005 from Alliant International University in Orange County. Christine continued on as an Early Intervention Teacher for Orange County Department of Education until she moved back to Northern California in 2013. She began her work with Easterseals NorCal as a Program Supervisor and transitioned to the Early Intervention Program in 2017 as an Early Interventionist. During her time with the organization, Christine has helped meet the needs of the Early Intervention Program, and has contributed to the expansion of Early Intervention services, developing community partnerships, working with pediatricians and educators, and supporting career advancement of her team.

David Durham

David Durham is an Employment Attorney and partner at McDermott, Will & Emory in San Francisco. David's expertise is representing employers on labor and employment matters, including but not limited to union elections, unfair labor practices, and collective bargaining negotiations. He also advises non-union employers regarding vulnerability assessments and planning. David's clients have spanned various industries that include health care, food service, hospitality, construction, and entertainment. He regularly advises on employment-related issues, including wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, unfair competition, trade secret and compensation disputes. David has his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law and his undergrad from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations. He is associate editor of California Law Review and is listed in the Best Lawyers in America in the field of Labor Law - Management. Dr. Sheldon Orloff

Sheldon (Shelly) Orloff received his subspecialty training in pediatric nephrology as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of California at San Francisco. Following his fellowship, Shelly joined The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG) as a physician in 1979 and remained there until his retirement in February 2014. Shelly has been a member of the Department of Pediatrics in Oakland since 1987.

Fran Olson

Fran most recently served as Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Rigel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in San Francisco, CA. She has extensive experience leading commercial organizations that focus on developing therapies and support services for individuals with rare disorders in the neurological and autoimmune areas. She led large multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver support services for positive patient outcomes while achieving strategic business objectives. In her early career, she was a pharmacist working directly with patients and families across a number of disease states, offering personal consulting and recommendations for optimum health. She managed a mail-order pharmacy to support patients' individual needs in managing complex therapies and adhering to the prescribed therapies. Fran understands the complex needs of individuals living with chronic disorders, many of which begin in early life/childhood. She understands healthcare systems and patient advocacy groups along with the complexities of operating within highly regulated environments.

Frances Allen

Frances has worked at Chevron for nearly 40 years, holding several positions with increasing responsibility. She is currently the Supervisor of Intellectual Property Operations and Legal Assistants. Frances is married with two boys. The oldest, Eric, has special needs. Throughout Eric's life, Frances has been his advocate in obtaining services through early intervention programs, school, adult day programs and the medical community. These partnerships have developed positive relationships with the programs Eric has been a part of. Their youngest son, Spencer, attends college and has a full-time job. Frances gets her energy when she is helping others. She provides experience, perspective, suggestions and resources for anyone seeking assistance. Sometimes an ear or an acknowledgment is what is needed to help someone through the challenging times they are encountering.

Kalina Hatzell

As the Senior Director of Behavioral Health and Autism Services at Easterseals Northern California, Kalina is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing day-to-day administration and operations to meet the needs of the community and support the goals and vision of the organization. Kalina began working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis as an in-home behavior therapist for young children in 2008. She has since provided services to a broad range of individuals of different ages and has represented Easterseals Northern California while giving presentations at multiple conferences. Most recently, she presented on the Parent-Led ABA Model at the 2021 Milestones National Autism Conference. Kalina brings over a decade of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis. She holds a Master's degree in Child Development: Theory and Research and has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2015.

Kimberly Donellan

Kim Donellan has been involved in the special needs community from a very early age. Growing up with two sisters with very different disabilities, she developed a deep passion for helping others, which inspired her pursuit of becoming an Educational Therapist and Advocate. In 2007, she founded her company, Kim Donellan Educational Services. Kim and her team deliver individualized programs incorporating and infusing academics, social, emotional, executive functioning, behavioral, and life-skills goals in a multi-sensory approach. In addition to her company, Kim works with the Morrissey-Compton Educational Center conducting assessments and providing educational therapy sessions. She also works with the Santa Clara County Department of Children and Family Services advocating for the educational rights of children within the foster care systems. Previously, Kim was the Academic Program Director at The Helix School, where she helped the founder create and design an innovative school specifically for children with autism spectrum disorder. She first dipped her toes into the educational world when she began working at the center her sister went to for intensive reading intervention every summer, Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes. Before Kim immersed herself into the special needs community, she was an internal auditor at a large nonprofit in the Bay Area that generated over half a billion dollars in revenue. She managed large-scale internal audit projects for contracts with government agencies, and developed company and divisional process improvements, spanning over 2,500 employees. Kim earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis. She earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Davis. She earned her graduate certificate in Educational Therapy from the University of California, Riverside. Kim is a certified Educational Therapist/Professional through the Association of Educational Therapists.

Matthew Peake

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Matthew brings his enthusiasm, willingness to learn and serve, along with over 25 years of experience in the Financial Services industry. He has served in multiple leadership/executive roles with Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Mechanics Bank, and most recently at Charles Schwab in San Francisco. Currently serving as an independent management consultant, Matthew is on assignment in International Banking for Schwab. Prior to his Financial Services career, Matthew spent his time right out of college in the healthcare industry as a case manager/family therapist in drug and alcohol rehabilitation, working very closely with patients and their families. Between 2010 and 2011, Matthew was a Peace Corps Volunteer stationed in Fiji; worked directly in the classroom with autistic children in Hanalei, HI; and as a consultant, worked with Educate Girls Globally to design and implement scale to their educational initiative in India. At home, Matthew is married with 4 children ranging from 2 to 31, with one grandchild. An avid golfer and traveler, he feels most at home in Kauai.

Monica Patrie - VP

Monica oversees the successful implementation of Easterseals Northern California's program operations by working closely with clinical leaders, ensuring teams are supported to deliver high-quality care to diverse communities with justice, equity and inclusion as guiding principles. She holds a Master of Education (M. Ed.) in special education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and brings to our organization over 18 years of experience in the early childhood and program management fields. Prior to joining Easterseals NorCal, Monica worked as a special education teacher, preschool directors and early intervention program manager at organizations in Hawaii, Washington and Ohio. When she's not working, Monica enjoys hiking, reading, gardening and spending time with her family, which includes five children and a granddaughter.

Patrick Oh

Patrick works with mission-driven organizations keen on providing direct services for the underserved population, including low-income patients, patients needing language concordant services, and reproductive health services. For the past 25+ years, Patrick has worked as a leader in numerous positions within the non-profit and academic healthcare delivery system. Patrick's principal background is in information technology, as he's been programming since he was a kid. His recent professional experience at UCSF, Planned Parenthood, and San Francisco Health Network includes designing revenue-generating professional services, applications, and analytics programs for value-based care payment programs. Patrick currently serves as a Chief IT Architect for UCSF's School of Dentistry. Patrick obtained his bachelor's degree studying Philosophy at UCLA and later obtained an MSIS at the University of San Francisco. Patrick has three children and lives in Berkeley. Patrick enjoys books, coffee, basketball, and tending to his flock of backyard chickens.

Zach Lupton

Zach is the Program Manager for Adult Services at Easterseals Northern California, and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, planning, and implementation of services to meet the needs of the participants in the Kaleidoscope Community Adult Program. Zach is proud and honored to produce his work with the goals of his participants and the vision of the organization in mind. Zach began working at Kaleidoscope in 2003 when it was previously an after-school program. Prior to becoming Program Manager, he wore many hats at Easterseals NorCal, including being Lead Teacher, Administrator, Special Olympics Coach, and Site Supervisor, and has represented ESNorCal at multiple venues, events, conferences, and trainings. Zach has also been the top fundraiser for the organization for multiple years. Zach brings over two decades of experience providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his bulldog named SIX, watching football, spending time with family and friends, and considers himself a connoisseur of tacos.
