Ari Chatterjee

Ari is our Chief Underwriting Officer and leads the company's cyber risk underwriting efforts. He has more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Envelop Risk, he was a lead cyber reinsurance underwriter with Hannover Re (Bermuda) - a line of business that he helped the company to establish. Ari has a Masters in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, and is a qualified actuary from the Casualty Actuarial Society, U.S.

Chris Baddeley

Chris Baddeley, Vice President of Insurance Solutions. Based in London, Chris is an experienced cyber insurance and reinsurance programme underwriter with 6+ years experience in Lloyd's of London; MA, University of Cambridge.

Dr John Kelly

John Kelly is the architect of our cyber risk model. He oversees technology strategy and development, team growth, technical communications, and alignment of technology with client and market needs. John's career spans leaderships positions at both high-profile start-ups and large corporates, where he has consistently demonstrated the ability to advance the state of the art in quantitative analysis in multiple disciplines. At QxBranch, where he was Director of Analytics, John built the data science team and delivered quantum computing software concepts to Fortune 250 firms in healthcare, finance, energy and telecommunications. John's diverse technical background includes specialisation in machine learning and signal processing. He holds a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he designed algorithms for brain-computer interfaces. He also holds both a BS and an MS from North Carolina State University. In his spare time, John is one of the most accomplished ultra marathoners in the world and a former professional triathlete.

Graeme Bell

Graeme Bell is Envelop Risk's General Counsel Chief Legal Officer and interim COO. He is a director and serves on the Remuneration Committee. He was previously a non-executive director of the company. Graeme advised Envelop as outside counsel for a number of years before joining the company. Prior to joining, he was a corporate partner in various international law firms. He was a founding partner of Asafo & Co in London, an international firm focused on Africa from offices in the UK, Europe and US. He was also a partner and head of Private Equity at New York headquartered firm Cohen & Gresser, lead the Private Equity practice at insurance specialist firm DAC Beachcroft and was head of the London office of leading Irish firm Mason Hayes & Curran. He spent a significant amount of time with Akin Gump in London and New York and before that at Ashurst in London and Frankfurt. He also spent time on secondment at Virgin Group covering the legal needs of the group. Graeme has over 20 years of experience representing clients in cross-border private equity transactions, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, public takeovers, joint ventures, capital markets transactions, distressed investing, and corporate restructurings. He has acted for private equity, VC, hedge and sovereign wealth funds, family offices and international corporations across a variety of sectors including technology, insurance, financial services, telecommunications, energy and infrastructure. Graeme has extensive experience across a wide range of jurisdictions including UK, US, Continental Europe, Russia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East and offshore jurisdictions, typically acting for U.S. and European clients. Graeme has been recognised as a leading European lawyer by The Legal 500 and has also worked on numerous market-leading transactions as reported in the press. Graeme received his undergraduate degree in German & Italian from the University of Bristol, and his legal training at Nottingham Law School. He is dual-qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales, and Ireland (non-practising).

John Wingate - CTO

John is an experienced hands-on technology leader with a passion for leveraging artificial intelligence and digital technologies to solve real-world problems. He is a proven expert in data science, applied machine learning and engineering, with deep domain knowledge acquired over a 25-year career delivering data-driven, software-based products, service, and digital transformation. During his career, John has worked across multiple sectors, including insurtech, IoT, oil & gas, and energy & aerospace, in a variety of technical, customer-facing, product and leadership roles.

Jonathan Spry - CEO, Founder

Jonathan brings over 20 years of insurance and investment banking experience to Envelop. His expertise covers strategy, innovation, technology, Insurance Linked Securities and capital management. Previously, Jonathan held senior positions at Guy Carpenter, NatWest Markets, Morgan Stanley, StormHarbour Securities and Aros Capital/New Nordic. Jonathan holds an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Paul Guthrie - Chief Commercial Officer, Founder

Paul Guthrie has over 20 years in technology strategy as an entrepreneur, and as an economist for global Aerospace & Defence organisations. Previously, Paul was a co-founder at QxBranch, a quantum computing firm acquired by RIgetti Computing in 2019. Paul is the founder and Chairman of VALR, a fitness technology company. Paul holds Masters degrees from Johns Hopkins University in Applied Economics, and the Elliott School of International Affairs in International Science and Technology Policy. He also holds a BA in Philosophy from the Honours Program at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. He is a former member of the United States Rowing Team, and former coach for the Samoan National Team.
