Beat Furrer, born 1966, grew up in Zug and is father of a grown-up son. After his military services as cyclist he studied law at the University of Zurich, finishing his studies in 1992 with the grade magna cum laude. He made first legal experiences as clerk at the District Court of Zurich and until 1995 as clerk with the Cantonal Court of Zug. Before admitted to the bar of the Canton of Zug he undertook practical legal training with a law firm in Baar, Canton of Zug - he was working with the same law firm until 2000 as an attorney at law and civil law notary. In August 2000, he was appointed as civil law judge with the Cantonal Court of Zug. Firstly, he was serving in the first division of the court, dealing in particular with family, succession and property law cases; he served from April 2004 until the end of 2007 as presiding Judge of said division. From 2008, he served in the third division of the court, ruling in commercial and corporate law cases. Additionally, he acted as sole Judge ruling family and insolvency law matters. Beat Furrer then served from January 2013 until August 2017 as Chief Justice of the Cantonal Court of Zug. After his long-standing practise as Judge and Chief Justice he decided to go back into the advocacy. Since January 1, 2018, Beat Furrer is a partner of the law firm Schnurrenberger Tobler Gnehm & Partner, succeeding the retiring partner Dr Max Brändli. Beat Furrer is interested in sports, architecture, art and design.

Markus Schnurrenberger

Markus Schnurrenberger was born on 30th May 1958 in Zug, where he still lives. He completed his schooling - six years of both primary school and grammar school - and obtained a type B Matura [Swiss high school certificate]. He then spent a year abroad in the USA and Italy. From 1978 to 1983, he studied law at the University of Zurich, where he obtained a licentiate, magna cum laude. After two years of practical training as a lawyer, he was awarded a licence to practise as a lawyer and notary in the canton of Zug at the end of 1985. From 1985 to 1987, he also received commercial training at the "Schweizerische Kreditanstalt" (Swiss Credit Bank), now Credit Suisse, in Zurich and New York, only to return to law in 1988. As an associate, he worked in two well-known Zurich law firms before setting up and expanding the Zug office of Bär & Karrer as a partner in 1995. On 1 July 2004, with his colleagues Andreas Baumann and Dr. Urs E. Kohler, he founded BKS Lawyers Notaries, which changed into Schnurrenberger Tobler Gnehm & Partner as of 1 January 2016. Markus Schnurrenberger is married and has two adult children. In his spare time, he likes to participate in sports or travel with family and friends.

Matay Jakob was born on 21 February 1989 and grew up in the "Talkessel" Schwyz. After obtaining his Matura (Swiss high school certificate) at the Kollegium Schwyz, Mr Jakob pursued university studies in law at the University of Zurich. He graduated (Law) with a magna cum laude degree. Upon completion of his studies, he undertook his legal internships at the District Court of Schwyz, at a medium sized law firm in Schwyz as well as at the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Schwyz. In 2022, Mr Jakob was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Schwyz. He is listed in the bar register of the Canton of Zug and permitted to conduct litigation before all Swiss authorities and courts. Sandro G. Tobler was born on 22 June 1968 and grew up in Brunnen and Schwyz. After obtaining his Matura (Swiss high school certificate) at the Kollegium Schwyz, Mr Tobler pursued university studies in business and law in Bern. Upon completion of his legal studies (lic. iur.), he undertook practical legal training in the Canton of Bern (Signau courts, Langnau i.E.; the Aarwangen governor's office; and the law firm of Friedli & Schnidrig, Bern) and in 1998 he was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Bern (Fürsprecherpatent). From 1999 to 2004 Mr Tobler was employed as an attorney at law with the law firm of Bär & Karrer in Zug and Zurich. In 2002, he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M., focus on international arbitration, commercial law and Scottish legal history) from the University of Edinburgh. From 2005 to the end of 2012 he worked as an attorney at law and notary public at the firm of Reichlin & Hess, Zug, and was a partner there from 2007 to the end of 2012. Since January 2013, he has been a partner with the law firm BKS Advokatur Notariat, Zug, which changed as of January 1, 2016, into Schnurrenberger Tobler Gnehm & Partner, Zug. In 2006, he was licensed as civil law notary (Urkundsperson) for the Canton of Zug. In 2013, Sandro G. Tobler obtained the title as a Certified Barrister SBA Inheritance Law from the Swiss Bar Association (SBA). Mr Tobler's hobbies include hiking, skiing, squash, theatre (both as a spectator and as an actor), and ancient and modern history. He enjoys travelling to far-off places.
