Ana Gabriela Juarez(Canada) Non-Executive Director
Ana Gabriela Juarez is a distinguished leader in sustainable mining with over 20 years of global experience. As President of Canadian Operations at CTA Environmental Consultants and President of A2J Minerals, Ana excels in environmental management and resource exploration. Founder of Women in Mining Central America, she's recognized among the 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining. Ana's bestselling book, "The Adventures of Ana at the Mine," inspires young readers to explore STEM and mining. She holds degrees from Cranfield University and Cambridge University in environmental management and sustainable finance.
Busiku Sulwe is an Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) executive with vast experience in the Mining and impact investing space in Zambia. He has worked throughout the phases of the mining approval framework from stakeholder engagements in the mining ecosystem to conducting due diligence, feasibility, construction, operations, and mine closure, including social investment strategy and implementation. He is President of the Zambia Institute of Planners and a recipient of the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
Florence Drummond is DPI's Executive Director, appointed in June 2023.
Florence brings 6 years of leadership and social impact experience at the helm of advocacy organisation IWIMRA, plus extensive global advocacy and awareness projects including work with the University of Queensland's Sustainable Minerals Institute, community engagement across LATAM, multi-year contributions to the United Nations' Commission on the Status of Women and official Australian delegation representation at APEC and UNESCAP.
She's also a non-executive Director of ASX listed Taiton Resources and has been recognised for her leadership in the WA Business News 40 Under 40 Awards, plus internationally recognised in Women in Mining UK's 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining alumni. Florence was also recently appointed as an advisory board member to the Centre for Australia-India Relations.

Jon Samuel is the Group Head of Responsible Business Partnerships at Anglo American. His specialties include mining, corporate responsibility, economic and social impact assessment, and benefit sharing strategies. In recent years, Jon has specialised in measuring, managing, and enhancing the socio-economic impacts of large companies, particularly in developing countries.
Kulvir Singh Gill has almost 20 years of experience working at the intersection of innovation, technology and sustainability. As a Senior Principal with the strategy firm Clareo, he leads international projects across multiple industries including mining, oil and gas, heavy industrial, banking, retail and media.
Kulvir has also recently served as the founding Executive Director of the Development Partner Institute to advance sustainability in mining. Mr. Gill is also passionate about community service. He serves as Board Chair for the William Osler Health System Foundation and the Sikh Research Institute (Canada). Kulvir holds a B.Sc. and a B. Comm. from the University of Calgary. He lives with his family in Brampton, Ontario.

Mark is a passionate advocate for the mining and materials industry and its role in society, bringing more than 40 years of global experience across the sector.
He recently stepped down from his role as CEO of Anglo American. He led a successful period of transformative change for Anglo American where he was Chief Executive for nine years. Mark has also held the roles of non-executive director of Anglo American Platinum Limited, Chairman of Anglo American South Africa, and Chairman of De Beers plc. He has also been CEO at Anglo Gold Ashanti.
Mark is a co-founder of the Development Partner Institute.

Mark Podlasly, a member of the Nlaka'pamux Nation in British Columbia, is the Chief Sustainability Officer at the First Nations Major Project Coalition, a national First Nations organization dedicated to ensuring Indigenous environmental and economic values are incorporated into projects in traditional territories. He counsels Indigenous governments across Canada on the establishment of trusts to invest revenues from resource development.

He is passionate about making a difference and elevating the performance of the resources industry to become a true development partner by being the catalyst of sustained prosperity for communities and regions,
He is widely published, speaks at conferences around the world, serves on the Board of Advisors for two leading VCs that have a focus on mining, Chrysalix and Foundamental, and also various emerging tech companies including Lilac Solutions and Safe.AI. In addition he has served on the Innovation Councils for multiple resource and energy companies.
Sarah-Joy Pierce is an experienced industry and government communications and public relations practitioner. Sarah-Joy has worked for clients in local government, major mining companies, manufacturing and higher education, with over a decade's experience. Her specialty is telling stories - whether it's through websites that speak to an audience, strategy that reaches stakeholders, or pitches that get results.
Sarah-Joy holds a Master of Business (Public Relations) and a Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Professional Communication, and is currently working on her PhD thesis focusing on stakeholder engagement in the resources industry.

Sheila Khama is former CEO of De Beers Botswana, natural resources policy advisor and the World Bank and African Development Bank. She brings more than 20 years of experience in mining and policy reforms. In 2020 she founded SK Resources Consulting (Pty) Ltd, a Botswana-based mineral, oil, and gas policy consulting firm offering services on governance and sustainability strategies to private sector and public sector clients. Other areas of interests are land tenure, public health PPPs and small and medium enterprise development initiatives.

Wendy Tyrrell is a past Executive Director and a member of the Board of the Development Partner Institute. She has worked in sustainability, ESG, and responsible sourcing for 25+ years across mining and international development.
Wendy has held senior roles in BHP and Orica and led a niche consulting firm that works internationally on sustainability. Wendy has held prior Board roles including AVI (an international development company), Transparency International Australia and the global Extractives Industry Transparency Initiative. Wendy is Chair of a start-up technology company, which is reimagining uses and management of water through better access to understanding its qualities.
Wendy has developed her passion working across different geographical and cultural contexts, seeing first-hand that bringing diverse stakeholders together can spark new ideas and ways of thinking and working, to positively contribute to the sustainable development of countries and regions. Wendy is a Graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She holds a Masters' degree in International Relations and a Bachelor of Applied Science.
