Alan Helfer joined the Monroe Insurance Center as an affiliate member in 1996 after 10 years of operating his own Agency, Helfer Insurance & Financial Service. He started his insurance career in 1979 and has been primarily involved with commercial and personal lines sales. Alan's 35 year career in insurance allows him a unique perspective as to insurance products and trends. In 2005, Alan began specializing in Medicare insurance supplements and Advantage products. He is certified to represent a number of carriers providing these products and has been very successful in the senior market.
Alan lives with his wife Lynn in Sandy Hook and is the father of two adult daughters. His greatest joys are spending time with his adorable grandsons and golfing.
Anna Rodrigues has been in the insurance industry since 1985 and has represented many of our insurance companies for over twenty-five years. In addition to her role as Director of Operations, she is a licensed agent well-versed in both Personal and Commercial Lines; service is her forte. "Establishing relationships with our clients has strengthened retention ratios through the years and built solid friendships with many of our customers."
Along with her husband, John, they started their own agency, John Rodrigues Insurance Associates, and joined Monroe Insurance Center in October of 1994. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children, traveling, playing tennis, and volunteering at a local domestic violence agency.
Gary Freeman began his insurance career in 1987 as a member of the Prime program sponsored by Aetna. He was an original partner at the inception of Monroe Insurance Center, Inc. in 1991 and currently serves as the Treasurer and Secretary of the corporation. Gary lives in Seymour and prides himself as a locally recognized, knowledgeable insurance agent. He is passionate about his work, soccer and his three children.

John Rodrigues is President of Monroe Insurance Center Inc. and owner of John Rodrigues Insurance Associates. He began his career in 1985 immediately after graduating from Fairfield University and trained via the Aetna Prime Agent program. John specializes in Personal and Commercial lines sales as well as Life and Health Insurance. He joined Monroe Insurance Center in October 1994.
His dedication to his clients is unparalleled, it is the norm for John to spend hours catching up with a client at their home or business. He is fluent in Portuguese and has a working knowledge of Spanish. John is a family man, he and his wife, Anna, have worked in the business together for over 25 years. He adores spending time with his two children, vacationing with his family and is a member of three local fishing and sporting clubs.
Louis Nuzzo began his insurance career in 1972 with The Prudential Insurance Company. In 1978, he created his own agency, The Nuzzo Agency, with his sister-in-law, Donna Patterson, as his secretary and "right arm". She is still with him today as his Assistant and an agent herself. In 1986, Lou merged with two other agents, forming GNP Insurance and in 1991 became Monroe Insurance Center.
After a successful and fulfilling career in insurance spanning more than 40 years, Paul started his own firm as Paul Ackert Insurance, LLC in 2013 and joined some friends at Monroe Insurance Center, Inc. Here he continues to have access to many of the top-rated carriers and is able to provide the hands-on, personalized service to his Business and Personal clients that has been the hallmark of his career.
Given his training and experience, he seeks to partner with his clients to provide creative and competitive solutions to their insurance needs. Most importantly, he is always personally available for his clients before, during, and long after the sale!
Paul resides with his wife in Norwalk, Connecticut where they have raised our terrific sons and adore the wonderful grandchildren with whom they have been blessed.
Peter Lozier began his insurance career in 1980 working for the Chubb Group. He became an Insurance Agent in 1985 and created his own agency, The Lozier Agency, and in 1991 joined Monroe Insurance Center, Inc. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Monroe Insurance. Peter handles a variety of insurance products including, Personal, Commercial, Life and Health. His focus is customer service and strives to provide excellent value to his clients.
Peter lives in Fairfield with his wife, Cathy, and has four adult children. He is involved with the Fairfield County community as a volunteer for Operation Hope as well as many other charitable organizations.
